The Tournament:

The Mexican Open, (currently sponsored by Telcel and HSBC and called the Abierto Mexicano Telcel presented by HSBC), is a joint professional tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts, and held annually in late February at the Fairmont Acapulco Princess in Acapulco, Mexico. It was played on outdoor red clay courts until 2013. The change to hard courts was introduced in 2014. The Mexican Open is part of the ATP World Tour 500 series on the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) World Tour, and of the WTA International tournaments on the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Tour.

About Acapulco:

Acapulco de Juárez, commonly called Acapulco, is a city, municipality and major seaport in the state of Guerrero on the Pacific coast of Mexico, 380 kilometres (240 mi) south of Mexico City. Acapulco is located on a deep, semicircular bay and has been a port since the early colonial period of Mexico's history. It is a port of call for shipping and cruise lines running between Panama and San Francisco, California, United States. The city of Acapulco is the largest in the state, far larger than the state capital Chilpancingo. Acapulco is also Mexico's largest beach and balneario resort city.

The city is one of Mexico's oldest beach resorts, which came into prominence in the 1940s through to the 1960s as a getaway for Hollywood stars and millionaires. Acapulco was once a popular tourist resort, but due to a massive upsurge in gang violence and murder since 2014 it no longer attracts many foreign tourists, and most now only come from Mexico itself. It is the deadliest city in Mexico and the second-deadliest city in the world, and the US government has warned its citizens not to travel there. In 2016 there were 918 murders, and the homicide rate was one of the highest in the world: 103 in every 100,000. In September 2018 the city's entire police force was disarmed by the military, due to suspicions that it has been infiltrated by drugs gangs.

Hopefully in this tournament Sloane Stephens can actually show she is interested in playing tennis, and not go out in the first round again.

Sloane Stephens needs to 'Take A Break From Tennis' and to really consider her future.I am not joking.Sloane's dismal results from last year even when she got back with her former coach Murray have Not Improved At All,it is up to her on the court, her coach can only do so much, last year and this year she has looked completely Disinterested in tennis full stop, she has just been beaten by a player ranked 269 Wild Card R.Zarazua 64 62.

That's not coaching and you are correct, Sloane needs to reengage into her commitment to be a top tennis player. Sloane has put on weight and her Feet are either in quick sand or quick drying cement.

Question....Are the coaches allowed to keep their cellphones during matches especially matches where they are allowed to come on the court to provide coaching tips and etc..If so, what is to prevent someone from watching a match on television and relay what is being communicating between the coach and player when the network has a microphone on both?
