This news has 'social media' buzzing!
Serena Williams has applied for reinstatement to tennis, adding herself back into the tennis anti-doping program, which is a requirement for official competition, to set herself up for a comeback to competition in 2026 maybe? she could return to tennis in 6 months

It was always on the cards. Called it a while back with the weight loss pics. A ton of players could beat her these days but if she isn't huffing and puffing from carrying the pile of extra weight she had for years, she may beat quite a few players. That was what held her up before mostly.

I'm glad someone said it! It's one of the many reasons Serena was no fave of mines from the beginning! I think she under-achieved believe it or not! How many times did commentators muse about her "playing into shape" at the Aussie Open? What other top player have we consistently heard commentary like that going back to the "pancake days" of Martina Navratilova? MN revolutionized training & diet which extended her career! Serena could have done more; esp. after having her 1st child! She almost wasted her time as she only made major finals, winning none even though the tour was rather weak at the time IMO! :astonished-face::fearful-face::yawningface::face-with-hand-over-mouth:

I feel like Serena should have won more in the mid-2000s. From age 22-26, when Serena should have been in her peak years, she only won 2 slams. At times during this period, it felt like Serena was unmotivated and not in the best shape.

Well Serena has come on social media and denied she is coming back to tennis? though why would she have put her name on the anti doping program? it does give her an option if she wants to play again?
There were big rumors before the USO this year that she and Venus would play doubles together? of course Serena didnt meet the requirements and could not play
BTW,
In terms of the weight loss drugs, this is something WADA is monitoring, there was and article about it last weekend in the Times.
Currently, the substances themselves are not on the prohibited list but on WADA's 'watch list'.
So may well at some point depending if they feel it meets their criteria.
