I really hope she turns up to play this time, after the media made a great big Boo Boo saying she was to play in a previous tournament, they should have actually listened to Vee and not take her comments out of context.
Also Naomi Osaka recieved a wild card into Washington and Zheng entered the tournament with a late entry

Venus Williams has always been famously about her private love life, but now the word is out the tennis legend is set to marry Italian actor Andrea Preti in September, with the wedding reportedly taking place on the stunning Almafi Coast.
Romance rumors first began swirling in July 2024, when Venus and Preti were spotted together on a boat in the Mediterranean.By February 2025, speculation intensified as Venus was seen training in Rome with Preti by her side, wearing a sparkling engagement ring on her finger. That same month, the couple publicly confirmed their relationship by sharing a kiss in front of the photographers at Milan Fashion Week, though Venus never officially acknowledged their engagement.
Now according to recent reports, wedding preparations are in full swing.Venus, 45, just spent a week aboard a yacht in the Mediterranean, celebrating her bachelorette with sister Serena, close friends and family
Despite her limited tournament schedule in recent years, Venus remains an active professional tennis player. This month, she's set to return to competition at the Citi DC Open, entering the tournament as a wild card, her first match back appearance since the 2024 Sunshine Swing
BTW interestingly, Preti has previous ties to the tennis world, as he once dated Flavia Pennetta more than a decade ago,Pennetta has since moved on and married fellow tennis player Fabio Fognini ( just retired) and the couple now has 3 children

Paula Badosa cant seem to take a trick on the injury front, besides dealing with her back she has been dealing with a tear on her "psoas', muscle fibers or tendon that connect the psoas muscle to the hip, before Wimbledon and its going to keep her out of competition for a couple of weeks

Tickets for the Citi DC Tournament have been sold out, fifth straights year entirely sold out. ( a limited number of outer court passes are now available)
Considering how much this tournament has gotten mucked about with, through 2 Olympics ( Tokyo and Paris) this is a serious accomplishment
