This is a 50:50 match and really hard to pick a winner, but my heart is with the guy who lives above kebab shop with his parents.
And who would this be? I think Sinner lives in Monte Carlo.
I think Sinner has more to lose here. He is looking to get a revenge for that tough loss a month ago and break the losing streak. He is 1:5 against Alcaraz with only win in that Saudi exhibition last year.

Grass conditions will probably suit Sinner more than the slow clay and he was moving really good against Novak. His first serve percentages are quite high, but we will see how it will work under pressure in the final. Carlos has been there and won it twice already on the surface that he probably feels the best.

I am just hoping for a good quality match. This rivalry is really picking up and we could see these guys battling in slam finals in next few slams without much doubt. They'll be pushing each other to new levels of what's possible on the tennis court. We should appreciate that we get to see them instead of some lesser players so short after the big3 era.
We are very lucky in this burgeoning new rivalry, as you say. They were mentioning this yesterday on Tennis Channel, too. Just when we were starting to mourn the real loss of the Big 3 Era, we get treated to this.

That's Carlito. I find that fact funny. He is not living in some villa, just a simple life in a flat with his parents above kebab shop, like some ordinary guy from the neighbourhood.

I did not know this little detail about (above a kebab shop.) Interesting that both he and Nadal stayed home with the family, when they actually were at home. Instead of tax sheltering in Monte Carlo, like so many. We'll see how long Carlitos lasts. Maybe he'll just move to Ibiza. LOL.

Just curious, is this the first time the starting time of the Wimbledon men’s final hinged on the conclusion of a doubles match? Can’t recall this happening in the last past years other than rain delays.

I would think all those domestic & foreign TV viewing rights contracts would prefer a fixed starting time. As it is the match may start an 90+ minutes later than the announced. PST of 6:00 AM.

I know, first world problems. ; )

Yes, the Wimbledon final starts 2 hours later this year (1600 BST/11 am EDT). The same thing happened yesterday. It had always been 1400 BST/9 am EDT.

They changed the time of last year's US Open men's final, and that was a disaster. Hardly anyone knew it was moved up 2 hours to 2 pm EDT, and by the time most people tuned in at 4 pm, the match was just about over. The time change made no sense, as it puts it up against the 1 pm EDT slate of opening weekend NFL games. (Not to mention, the contract dispute between DirecTV and Disney, which caused the US Open final on ESPN to be blacked out for DirecTV customers.) Think about this: The 2024 US Open men's final was the lowest rated one by a wide margin, and it had an American in it. I hope the USTA comes to its senses, and moves back the US Open men's final start time to the traditional 4 pm EDT starting time.

The US Open men's final should be Monday (like it was from 2008-15), now that ESPN has the rights to the US Open. It would help their ratings, as the US Open men's final would be a perfect lead-in to Monday Night Football.

Ok but some of the websites still had it at 6:00 AM PST.

Not paying attention, or yet another AI fail. Wimbledon decided to give the men's and women's doubles a little more time in the sunshine, since they used to play after the singles, and most people went home. That's fair. As a benefit, it's also a better time in the US.

Sinner coming to the net. He's really studied how to play on grass. If he forces Carlos out of position he's coming in automatically. Smart!

Sinner looking dominant. Not sure Carlito has figured out what to do yet. He gets the first break

back on serve. Carlos has raised his level, but that was more of a let down from Jannik

Jannik's serve going away is rearing it's ugly head again, just like the last 3 sets of the French Open final, the Bublik match, and the Dmitrov match.

Sinner's turn to win the set on a great shot!
