I'm going to leave this here:

If healthy Djokovic plays Sinner at Wimbledon, and my life depends on it, I'm betting on Djokovic every time. All you have to do is watch the 2023 match. Plus, a healthy Djokovic would have never struggled or lost to the likes of Medvedev, Bublik, or Dmitrov on grass. Once Djokovic starts to do that, then I know it is over. (Just like I knew it was all over for Roger when he struggled against Mannarino in the first round of Wimbledon in 2021. It was only a matter of time, and Hurkacz ended up taking advantage to be the guy that finished Roger's career.)

I don't know why you keep hammering on this, Phi. Novak isn't the same player he was in 2023. Whether that's due to health or age (or both, as age-related decline and health issues are often the same). Might be time to accept the inevitability of Father Time.

This is not to say that Novak couldn't surprise us and bring home one more Slam. If anyone can do it at age 38, its him. But I'd bet against it.

I've been saying this for 18 months, but I get accused of being a hater. It's not hating if it's the truth. Folks want to live in the past, clutch their pearls and expect his level to never dip. I'm sorry, he's not winning another slam unless the stars align and he faces one of his personal pigeons in the final. Even healthy, dude is constantly bent over and gasping for air after several points. Like I said before, only he knows how long he's willing to continue taking these beatings from Alacasin.

You don't have to be a "hater" to be dismissive! After unprecedented success by Novak, to many around here, any level change means "the end!" He's really pulled back on his schedule the last couple yrs.! It only made sense due to his age, needed recovery from the tour & commercial responsibilities, & wanting to spend more time w/ his beautiful family! I can't get over how the man is barely around to play, but made all 4 Major SF at 38 yrs. old getting NOTHING from some! Most players barely make 1 major SF in their whole freakin' collective careers! Novak's still creating records & extending his own! I get hit over the head w/ Tik Tok vids of The Royals! William, Catherine, & the kids; so comperable to The GOAT's!:face-with-hand-over-mouth:
