No, because injuries can happen at any time. What happened to Dmitrov yesterday can happen to anyone, at any given moment.

Dmitrov was dominating the match before the injury.
Apparently you didnt see Jannik had a heavy fall on his elbow, his serve and fhand went off and kept shaking his arm, even when he had the MTO the pills he was given for pain didnt help him, he was playing good tennis before this incident happened in the tournament

Darren Cahill also posted,
We also went outdoors on the courts, for 20-30 mins for Jannik to just feel the ball,
He's going to be okay, it was just nice to get on court
Its impossible for him to take a day off.

Still waiting for test results though, I think. Hopefully nothing serious.

The draw is the draw. I wouldn't say Tay had it easy. He faced dudes that can consistently serve 140+ on grass. Hello, he could have went out to either player. But all that aside, Chuck will be hard to beat no matter who is on the other side of the net. Djoke was hoping he doesn't have to face him again in the Final, but Fritz is the last American hope to prevent a Carlitos 3-peat. Jannik can match him with intensity and from the baseline, but as we saw at RG, Chuck has another gear he call upon.
YUP.

The funny tricky thing about draws is, yes, they can matter. Ask hypothetically, say a player who barely misses getting seed (Joe Blow #33) and then draws Alcaraz in the 1st round here.

But here is the tricky, there is no quantifiable consistency how much it matters in any given match/tourney. And if a player is super hot nova it almost seems irrelevant who they have facing them on the draw. Flashback 1985 when 17 year old Unseeded Becker blazed through Wimbledon for his first trophy, in the 1st round he drew Hank Pfister, who back in the day was a huge server and had been good enough to make the Semifinals of the AO on grass several times. There was already buzz about Becker because he won a warmup tourney (Queens?) but I thought, "rotten luck, the kid drew Pfister from the get go" Becker also had to beat a top 8 player in the 3rd round but regardless he went all the way.

His opponent in the finals, Kevin Curren had the draw from Hell. He had to beat in successive rounds the young Stefan Edberg (who later that year won his first slam the AO on grass), John McEnroe!! and then Jimmy Connors!! and yet he reached the finals.

Going on what I have been reading from Cahill, Sinner has had an indoor and out door practice, if it was serious he would have withdrawn, just my thoughts

I saw Cahill on TC panel, talking about the various matches today. He talked about the indoor practice, though I don't think he mentioned the outdoor one. (I believe you...he just didn't say it.) He did say they were still waiting for results. But it's a good sign he had a light practice.

A friend of my texted and said Jannik should post his MRI scans on Twitter like Novak did that time at the AO? as people are not believing him on social media
Where is Craig Tiley when you need him :)

This is a joke right? I awoke to find Fritz has made the SF of Wimbledon! How embarrassing in so many ways! I tout the depth of the men's tour, only to allow this travesty! How is he being pushed along? Is the world desperate for America to get back to the top in tennis after 20 yrs "lost in the woods?" At least the ladies have "represented!" :astonished-face::fearful-face::yawningface::anxious-face-with-sweat:
What have you got against Fritz. I mean, besides the horrible pneumatic influencer GF. :face-with-tears-of-joy:

I have been impressed with Fritz return game during Wimbledon, he has faced some Big Servers, he has been blocking the return back standing on the baseline which then allows him to get into the next point.
Reminds me of someone else who used to block the return well :)

That’s enough !!!
I know. I'm trying to get past her and root for Taylor as a US player, and because he's improved a lot. But, boy, she's kind of a deal-breaker.

I guess I'm un-American, but from Connors, McEnroe, Agassi, & Roddick, I had a real problem w/ their act! Now we have Shelton & Fritz & for some reason they irk my soul! Shelton was disrespectful to Novak (his elder) playing him in the SF of the US Open in 2023! IDK if it's Fritz's laid back, "I"m so cool" attitude/demeanoer that bugs me! IMO he has few real weapons even w/ the success he's had; same w/ Sinner who I don't think will be able to sustain this level of play! I've watched this game for over 50 yrs. & think I have some credibility when accessing talent, potential, & legacy after all's said & done! I've been right about Alcaraz; showing immence talent & great results, but he's sabotaging himself w/ his own brilliance! Even "sports-desks" think he should pull back trying to make the "highlite reel" over-extending himself unnecessarily! He's surely shortening his career IMO! I thought the same of Nadal, but heaven knows what went on behind the scenes to keep that walking wreck of a body together! :astonished-face:

I'm good w/ Tay getting to the SF. I still don't like his pre-tourney regimen of entering an event the week before though because he doesn't like practice. Too many things can happen when you are playing live matches (most of it out of your control).

You don't have to like the Americans on offer, if you don't. That's fair enough.

I don't think Alcaraz is necessarily "sabotaging" himself because he likes to put on a show. He's really young, and enjoying his tennis. This is a good thing, especially with the results. He'll calm down. And I'm not sure what you're trying to imply about Nadal managing to stay in for so long, but he was a hard-worker, and also very committed to the sport. What it took to keep him competing in the face of injuries is there to be known, and not "behind-the-scenes." Unlike Novak, who promised to tell us what was in those bottles everyone was hiding from the prying eyes, and yet, he never has. I wouldn't throw stones, if I were you.

Fair point, but he did get a bit of a rest because Jordan Thompson pulled up lame. Unfortunate for Thompson, but timely for Fritz. He looked pretty good today, though he lost the plot for a set. Blisters featured, and that's over-use, but not the worst thing that can happen.
