However with Serena seemingly trying to move into the net as soon as possible, I’d put that drop shot back in her holster.

It's a smart plan. Now she needs to vary it. Instead of coming in after every point, mix it up so the opponent's don't get used to lining up passing shots

She is not the first one in that kind of scenario. Many girls have coach cum BF combo. Some of them even went on to marry their coaches and flourish.

There were few failed cases as well. Sam Groth (and his ex-wife) is a classic example of failed husband cum coach combo. He will sit in the stands and be visibly upset with what she is doing on court. She will be so upset that he is disapproving her every move and get mad. In the end it did not work out for her tennis and also for her life.
