Was thinking the same thing when I saw that score. Falla's great on grass and personally hadn't seen him play on hardcourt but that's some beatdown.

Certainly Janowicz is more seasoned, but Ferrer has been playing some inspired tennis this week, judging by the score lines. Would have to be some of his best in months. It is his home town tournament, so I'll pick Ferrer in 3.

I will be rooting for JJ. You do feel like on indoors and grass (imo), if Jerzy plays his best, he has a chance against anybody. Then again, it goes without saying that David love playing in Valencia.

It's true, he has a financial stake in the tournament. I think that's mostly putting your money where your home is. By this year's line-up, I'd say they've been turning it into a much bigger event, over the last couple of years. It's MUCH less provincial that it has been, and is beginning to compete with Basel for top draw guys.
