Serena Took the time in her toughest match in a very long

long while to still serve warm fresh baked goods from the

Williams Bakery.

Watching the @usopen final. So many memories. Can't wait to be back there next year! #NewYorkCity pic.twitter.com/HL9FZGAn7X

Oh Well, I guess that's not hard to figure out.

Congrats Serena for your 17th GS title.....Amazing
Vika can hold her head high in this final she fought to the end.
I hope for the mens final the wind disappears
The wind in tennis can be a good leveller.

If the wind is really gusting, who do you think will have the greatest difficulty with it? Rafa plays with a lot of margin and spin, Novack hits the ball flat with much pace, even on defense.

Hi Colleen,

That's a great question. There's a thread in the ATP Forum for the men's final so I hope you will ask it there:

Thanks!

Rafa usually plays well in the wind.Though what I read in his press conference after his win over
Gasquet he said it was difficult at times.
I checked the weather forecast for the mens final.Apparently it wont be as windy as it was in the womens final. Both men will use their slice a lot if the wind picks up I would think

Are you for real? A Serena who has a bagel set on Li Na and a breadstick or bagel set on every player she played this tournament.

They were talking about the last time someone defended

the USO back to back.

Well the question now is when was the last time someone

defended the US open back to back......to back

If Serena is to take anything from this match to work on for next time she plays Vika, she has to stop positioning herself like her serve isn't going to be returned. I know Serena has a lot of confidence in her serve, but Vika more often than not gets more than anyone back. Serena seems shocked that it is coming back, you would think she would know better by now that it is a strong possibility of it happening.

Got too late for me so I went to bed after Serena lost set 2. Couldn't really tell at that stage how the match would go but was surprised to see such a lopsided 3rd set. Serena now ties Fed in the slam count. Amazing achievement and for sure Navratilova and Evert's slam totals will be surpassed next year the way she's going. The wind was nasty out there though and hope it's better for the men's final. Kudos to the ladies for playing so aggressively through that wind.

I made that mistake once before. When Serena was down 1 - 5

to Kim in the third set I got mad and turned my recorder off.

I missed Serena's greatest comeback. So now win or lose

I stick with the match to the end.
