I think Roger Federer won't. I predict "Baby Fed" beats him, and sneaks into the Final, but then loses to De Potro.

i think I'm going to go for Federer to rummage around in his box of magic (THE BOX OF DELIGHTS BBCTVC1984) and win in front of his home mob..

but really I think I should vote for del potro..so I really believe del potro will win but actually wouldn't mind Federer winning, do I really believe it ?, dunno but poor ol fed has had a rough time lately so>> on we go.

that does not make any sense but we are on 'The Interwebz Machine' (sic)..so its ok :)

i just saw the draw, i was going to say grigor could carry on his relative good form and make a move in basel but that would mean beating Federer..

good job rafa n raonic pulled out, it was looking like an almost unbelievable atp500 tourney in terms of depth of field.

It would be very interesting to see these two semis:

Del Potro/Gasquet vs. Wawrinka

Federer vs. Berdych

The implications for qualifying for the World Tour Finals would be tantalizing.

Also, how much confidence would Federer gain by beating Berdych, who has been a thorn in his side recently? If he lost to Berdych, would he spiral down even further?

Then if Wawrinka could win his semi, and Federer his, we could see the Swiss pair play for the championship and Swiss #1.

Very interesting dynamics in play.

I've picked Del Potro to win this. Basel is always a good tournament as well, great past winners and history.

Figure it will be DP. Decent draw for Roger if he doesn't play Berd. If he does then that is definitely the end of the road.

I think Roger may do better than his fans expect. It's a good draw and a good surface for him...

Finally, Roger gets a break from the draw gods. I predict he will go all the
way to Finals and lost to Del Potro, the Tiger. Morevoer, I predict Fed will
beat Berdych along the way and get some of his confidence back.

This tournament has good depth
I would love to see Roger win.
I will go with the defending Champion Del Potro who has been playing great tennis of late.

I just can't believe Nole did not accept the invite. He should be there. that being said, Delpo should win this, unless Roger catches fire again.

I don't find this being televised in the States. Where are you watching it?

Just online...It is over now anyways. Roger won the second 6-2. Not a particularly fun match to watch because Mannarino just went for everything and made a lot of errors in return.

Roger was OK...There were not a lot of long rallies to judge his groundstrokes, but forehand was looking good.

Well, Roger wins the match convincingly after a bad start. Most probable
next opponent Istomin, the strange man who has (or is it had) [/align] his mother as coach.

The times have thoroughly changed. I have to really search through the
draw to find Federer's name even in an ATP 500 tournament.
