In the Metz final,
19 yo Tien is bidding to win his first ATP title, would be the first American teenager to win a title since Andy Roddick in 2002
Tien won the 1st set 63 over Norrie

Musetti just got broken early in the 3rd set, his first serve has gone AWOL!
What is bloody annoying there are 3 finals on at the same time, 2 for the mens and the Ladies WTA Singles Finals, MEH!
BTW,
I looked up the rule, apparently a ATP Top Ten player can play as many ATP250 tournaments as they want.Hmm., unlike the Top Ten WTA players.

Djokovic was up a break at his own tournament in Athens, The Hellenic Chp., but Musetti's fought back valliantly to even it up at 3 in the 3rd set! He's never defeated Novak on HC; today the 1st time he's won a set off the old man! Novak's secured his ranking at #4 in the world as he's well ahead of the rest who'd need to win the YEC to overtake him! As usual, even when it appears the man's just hanging on for no good reason, his accomplishments continue to accumulate as he's made it to his 199th ATP SF, running 3rd to Connors' 239 & Federer's 211! What else can be said?! Even if he's no fave to the Tennis Intelligentsia out there, the record #'s belie the hatin'! :angry-face::yawningface::fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth:

a TB for the 3rd set and for the match in the final at Metz
Tien winning the 1st set 63, Norrie winning the 2nd set 63, Tien was serving for the match in the 2nd set 5-4, broken.
Trailing 1-5 in the TB Tien came back and won 76(6)
Well done to Tien winning his first ATP title defeating Norrie 63 36 76(6) and Tien will make a Top 30 debut, live ranking of No 28
Tien will be seeded at the AO in 2026

Of course Lorenzo breaks the serve of Novak when he was serving for the match at 5-4
Rinse and Repeat Lorenzo find your 1st serve
5 games all 3rd set
Lorenzo really?
Novak will serve for the match a second time at 6-5 I have no words for this match!
Novak finally closes out the 3rd set 7-5
Lets see if Novak plays Turin, he said he will decide after the final in Athens
Musetti it out unless Novak decides not to play Turin, FAA becomes the 8th player.

Sky Sports Italia reports that Djokovic is pulling out of ATP Finals and his spot will be taken by Musetti
I will wait for more confirmation

It is official now Novak has withdrawn from Turin, meaning Musetti will replace him, and FAA qualify
As I did post yesterday, the ATP finals will be decided by Paris next year and not bleed into 250 events like Metz/Athens!

Novak says the reason for his withdrawal in Turin is an 'ongoing injury' a shoulder injury, was looking forward to playing in Turin

Cincinnati Open ( ATP1000), Qatar Exxon Mobil Open Doha (ATP500) and Nordea Open, Bastad (ATP250) were named Tournaments of the Year in their respective categories for the 2025 ATP Awards based on the results of players surveys

If you want to put an end to this BS, move the ATP/WTA Finals to follow the US Open, and put a commitment deadline the day after the US Open finals. I guarantee you the ATP/WTA Finals would do better ratings here in the US.

The season wouldn’t be over. There’s still big events to be played, to gain points and qualify…

You can play these events in a new season, after the ATP/WTA Finals. Plus, a longer ramp-up to the Australian Open is better for the players.

The new season would start during the same year as the old season?

Why not have a single season per calendar year?

I don't think that would be a problem. The NHL and NBA seasons start in October, after their Championships are rewarded in June. Heck, the Billboard Hot 100 charting year now begins/ends in mid-October.

I'd much rather have the big events, like Wimbledon and the US Open, be at the end of the calendar. I don't see any problem with a November-September tennis season. But if it has to be January-November, then some of the fall schedule events should be moved earlier to the year, so the US Open swing and US Open can be played in favorable weather. I'd much rather much more be at stake at the US Open than some random 250/500 in October.

The US Open swing is played in summer, with a GS title at stake. After this, if players play the Laver Cup and any other nonsense, that’s their fault. Six kings? No kings! The Donald would tell you that. :lol6:

Oh Please
Rinse and Repeat
Tennis is a Global Sport and yes it Dosent Revolve Around the USA and the USO?
The Asian Swing follows the USO
It serves as a opportunity for players to earn points before the year end finals
Hangzhou Open starts in September
China Open in September
Shanghai Masters 1000 in October
These events are a mix of ATP 250, ATP 500, and a Masters 1000,
I am glad that the points for the ATP Finals, will end in Paris Masters, I feel it is fair to all players, especially what happened in ATP250 in Athens, yesterday!

You mentioned this early, and I'm not clear why this is good, or what is so bad about points going to the wire for Turin. Who was screwed because Musetti got in? (And I realize he only got in because Djokovic bowed out.)
