Meant to say this before, but I agree with you that Zverev played some aggressive and very good tennis, especially in the first set. Sinner looked a bit hobbled in the first though, and had some cramping issues in the 3rd (what is that about??) and still, Zed, with some of his best tennis, couldn't beat him. That should discourage him, a bit. But, he should keep up with the aggressive posture.

I've been warning you guys, this kind of aggressive play is going to cause players physical & mental stress! Most of the breaking news on tennis is more a medical report! My only surprise is how soon it's taken over, starting w/ old man Djokovic! That's all they speak on really; the state of his health! The thing is no one's being spared as the kiddies are falling by the wayside w/ chronic aches & pains! It's only going to get worse as players outside of the top 100 have as good a chance of success! WC, qualifiers, & other newbies can upset the best of them these days! The expanded seeding to 32 in top events is not saving top players as half of them are routinely upset in early Rds.! :angry-face::yawningface::fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth:

I've been mostly away from the tennis for a couple of weeks. (I was in Italy @MargaretMcAleer! Though, the northern part.) Now, every time they talk about the race to the YEC on TC, they say, "IF Djokovic plays." Why wouldn't he play? Because he's won it so much and he doesn't care?

Northern Italy which part? well Novak has only confirmed to play his 250 tournament in Greece, so far, he has qualified for Turin, considering all the injury woes he had in his last tournament, having the physio out in every match, he might just call his season over in Greece this year, I mean he had a very favorable draw in Shanghai, after Sinner had to retire with cramping.
I have to agree with that fitness expert, I did post a few of this thoughts why older athletes, eg Djokovic pick up more injuries at tournaments, not playing for awhile, older athletes are prone to pick up injuries, finding a balance is the key to longevity.

The ATP Chairman clarified the 2026 tournaments which will count for the 2027 race to the ATP finals,
the 2026 tournaments will count for the 2027 race, he said this was done to ensure players dont withdraw from the ATP250 tournaments after they either qualify outright in Paris Masters or have no chance of qualification after Paris. He also said that this would be more convenient for the WTF as they can release groups earlier and the players can all arrive sooner.

This is a fun fact,
If Jannik Sinner wins Indian Wells next year, he will have won every major hard court event by age 24
Noone has ever done it before age 30!

Nick Kyrgios ( #652) will play Aryna Sabalenka womens No 1, in a tennis match labeled as the fourth " Battle of the Sexes" in sports history
The match is being organized by Evolve ( Naomi Osaka is part owner), the agency that represents both athletes and will take place December 28th at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai

Djokovic playing his opening match in Athens v. Tabilo. Oddly, the Chilean has a 2-0 H2H v. Novak. Both wins on clay. Novak messy, so far.

What was all that bent over and huffing and pufffing from Novak in that 1st set? lol!
I guess we have to expect that from Novak :) he is the Drama King No? :) and gets his 1st win 76(3) 61over Tabilo, who is more of a clay player
Journalists have said maybe one of the reasons Novak is playing the ATP Finals is to equal Roger Federer's record for the highest number of appearances in ATP Finalsl also the 3 set format, suits Novak, fast indoor court as well., getting a day off between matches.
One of my tennis friends, texted me during the match.
" Must be demoralising being battered by a player that looks like he might collapse and he's 5-1 up serving for the match. If I was playing him, I'd f...ing hate him :) my tennis friend was a big Andy Murray fan by the way :)

Years ago I posted a photo of Venus Williams with an inhaler in her hand going off court for a bathroom break. She lost the first set and then came back and won the next 2 sets and her opponent won just 1 more game but nothing dodgy going on there at all.
