Lorenzo Musetti withdrew from the Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic today, ( Saturday) I hope he is okay, not wanting to play before Wimbledon starts on Monday, knowing he had a problem with his leg.

Of course, so you don’t need to put anyone down to do this, which is also right. You know, sometimes I get tennis news first from other posters, which is their right…

Mrzz will be intersted in this,

Alcaraz had a hit up with Fonsecsa at Wimbledon, last time they had a hit up was at the 2023 Nitto ATP Finals,
Alcaraz said,
" Right n ow there are a few things he needs to learn and he is just starting to play tournaments, on grass, he likes to hit big fhands and go to the net.So I am pretty sure he's going to get the level on grass really soon. But his level is pretty high so far"

Fonseca will play his first Wimbledon match on Monday against British player Fearnley.

Novak article:

Excerpt:
“My wish is to play for several more years. I would love to be healthy physically and also mentally motivated to keep on playing at the highest level,” he said. “That’s the goal. But you never know at this stage.”

Here is the official statement from Sinner when he was asked about his split from Marco Panichi and Ulises,, both worked have worked with Novak Djokovic,

" I parted ways not long ago ( Halle),up to now I have always had a good time and we have done great things, but I wanted to do something different and now I am curious to know what will happen in London in the next 2 weeks ".

Hate to say it, but I really wouldn't be surprised if Fonseca loses in the first round. He's played and beaten Fearnley twice - at Indian Wells and the other at a Challenger - both this year and on hards. But...grass is tricky, and Fearnley's more experienced. Fearnley even took a set off Old Man Djokovic last year at Wimbledon.

If Fonseca can find a good coach, alla Darren Cahill, for example, he can take his game to the next level. In hindsight, I think if Federer had worked with Cahill at some point in his career, he could’ve done much better.

I suspect that Fonseca will show signs of improvement in the second half of the year, but really start showing another level sometime early next year. This is like his "virgin tour" - every tournament, just about, is new. He's getting his sea legs. I think the second time around is going to shock the tennis world. Or not really shock us, but we'll see the great player he's going to be really start to emerge on a more consistent basis next year. So my prediction for Fonseca--take with a grain of salt--is:

Rest of 2025: Small improvements, maybe another 250 or 500, finishes in the #25-40 range (He's at #57 now).
2026: Starts going deep in most tournaments, winning a bunch of small titles and a Masters or two. One or two deeper Slam runs (QF or better). Still has youthful tendencies, though, and prone to some early exits. Finishes around #10. Think Federer in 2001-02: signs of brilliance, but still unpolished.
2027: Establishes himself as a serious contender at all big tournaments, good chance of winning his first Slam and maybe differentiates himself as the third best player on tour. Top 5 finish. Thing Roger in 2003: the jewel coming into its shine. If not this year, then...
2028: We have a Big Three, folks. He may still be a lap behind the Dynamic Duo, but this year he clearly differentiates himself from the field.

Just a bit of fun speculation. I think the general arc will hold true, with possible variation of details and time-frmaes. That is, whether he jumps that level to big title winner early in 2026, clay season, or later...I suspect clay season, but won't panic if he hasn't won his first Masters before Roland Garros. If he doesn't win a big title by the end of next year, I might start lowering my expectations of him. But right now they remain sky-high. Hard to not see at least lesser greatness in his future.

Welll last the last 2 years Semifinalists #9 Medvedev went down in 4 sets to the Frenchman Bonzi, losing 2 TB’s, did not see that one coming.
But at the same time, it’s not shocking, is it? He’s been feeble a while now. His career is sliding towards the grave. He’s having a terrible year and it’s hard to see him turning it around…

That backhand volley is reminiscent of Rafter.

True, but I thought making the finals at the warm up grass tourney Halle would set him up for a decent run here.

But again, results of grass court warmups to W are not always accurate indicators for the Championships, the Queens finalist Bautista went went out in 4 sets to Norrie.

Said to be the hottest day in Wimbledon on record, the grass must be baking. Rune apparently being stretched to five sets & Fognini split the first 2 sets with Alcaraz.

Fognini is giving all sorts of trouble to Carlos. 1 set all and now FF3 has an early break.
