Hurkacz has withdrawn from Wimbledon
Lajovic ( LL will play against B.Harris)
I think it is rather rude from Hubi to wait till the draw has come out and decide to withdraw, he has had ongoing injury concerns, still he should have withdrawn earlier in my opinion

BTW looking more closely at Zverev's draw which isnt easy by any means, he could face Berettini in the 3rd round, Berrettini beat Zverev a couple of months ago in MC and also Matteo defeated Zverev in the 3rd round at Wimbledon in 2023.
Of course if he gets through to the QFs he could face Fritz when I saw his draw and the projection of him meeting Fritz just laughed out loud, Zverev told Fritz in their last meeting he never wanted to see him again in his draw lol!

Has some interesting matches, doesn’t it? Some that might extend him (especially Holger) but none he should be scared of.

I don’t like blokes like FAA. Basically, they’re not big players, but they’re capable of playing the odd big match. Likewise Rublev, though of course his personality type is “Russian” so he’s prone to deranged passages, even during the warm up.

Fog will be honest, if not great. He’ll try, and could be awkward over a short stretch, but really it’s a good draw, far as I can see.

What do you think?

Well his win at Queens, he is the favorite to win Wimbledon this year, in my opinion, he has been tweaking his serve and it has paid off, he has a complete game on grass and his movement is second to none, it will take a hell of a player to defeat him.As long as he stays focused he will be okay

Who can forget the most deranged Russian of all, God I miss Mikhail Youzhny…

IMO this was about as good a draw as Djokovic could have hoped for, avoiding both Alcaraz & Sinner in the Qtrs, & avoiding Alcaraz unless they both make the finals.

Draper has, once again as with all high seeded Brit’s, the weight of the nation upon his shoulders. He’s expected to do well so it’s not like he’s gonna sneak under the radar

Big Serve & big forehand is usually the dark horse path to a Wimbledon final.,
To me for Novak there is no standout very dangerous/tricky player before the Qtrs possible encounter with Draper.

BTW Fiero, your projections are off with Medvedev in Fritz QTR, not Novak's,

Novak to take out Sinner in semis. Then he plays an epic 5 sets against Carlos, but loses narrowly, possibly after he has a few match points.
That would basically be a repeat of Roger's 2019 Wimbledon, when he beat Rafa in the semis, but lost that epic 5-setter to Novak in the final after having double-match points at 40-15.

That would be sweet. Hopefully he loses something like ten championship points spread across the final 3 sets, with Carlos winning on his first championship point - with a vicious tweener topspin serve that has such a bounce that Novak has to throw his racket up in the air to hit it and his racket hits the queen of England in the f**king mush and the Serb is roughly deported even before the ball stops spinning, setting an unwelcome record of being the only player to be fecked out of two countries hosting a slam…

Not sure this is the best time for Sinner to be making changes within his team: https://www.espn.com/tennis/story/_...ownplays-split-trainer-physio-ahead-wimbledon
That is old news Phil okay it happened a couple of days ago if I thought it was important I would have posted the news, when it first came to light, Jannik is not worried about it btw. as his said in his press conference the decision was made a little awhile ago., nothing major happened.
Andrea Cipolla will be Janniks physio/ trainer at Wimbledon he has traveled with Janniks team before.
