I had to laugh again regarding Carlos and his dream teaming with the wiild card queen Raducanu he dosent want to disappoint her, and was nervous in his match against Munar yesterday thinking about their mixed doubles match at the USO
Carlos keep your eyes on the prize at present, the mixed doubles at the USO is awhile away, who knows with the wild card queen she might withdraw

What a battle royale the match between Saba and Elena
Went down to the wire in the 3rd set TB, Saba had served for the match 5-4 and was broken
Elena leading 6-2 in the TB and Saba came back and won the TB 76(6) and the match, what a champion player, Elena this match was on your racket
Sabalenka d Rybakina 76(6) 36 76(6)

Like I said. She is completely useless as a top player now. 4 MP's, 2 on her serve and she still finds a way to gift the match.

2023 Wimbledon champion Marketa Vonrousova defeated Sabalenka in the SF of Berlin 62 64, as I had posted previously Marketa in this tournament has found her grass 'magic' she will arrive at Wimbledon as of the the 'dark horses' and undseeded. This is the first final Marketa has reached sicne she won the Wimbledon championships in 2023 ( Marketa has been off the tour, with shoulder surgery, and spent time in rehab, after her shoulder surgery)
Marketa will play the Q Wang who posted the biggest singles result of her career defeating Samsonova 64 61 to reach her maiden singles final

WTA500 Berlin Tournament
Ladies Singles Final.
Sunday 22nd June,

Vondrousova vs Qualifer Wang Xinyu

Marketa Vondrousova entered Berlin tournament with a ranking of #164, her record this year 6-5 is so so, in Berlin, Marketa has rediscovered her game and on the grass where she does excel.
Marketa played her crafty style of tennis in the SF and outwitted the No 1 ranked Sabalenka in the SF 62 64, this is the first final for Marketa since her Wimbledon triumph in 2023,

Qiualifer Wangf Winyu has been playing with 'house money' all tournament, to her credit she has made her first WTA Tour Final, defeating some highly ranked players along the way, Kasatkina, Gauff, Badosa and in the SF defeated former Berlin champion Samsonova 64 61

Vondrousova and Wang have never played one another though they do share a common tactic of 'counter punching'

Good luck to both players

Marketa Vondrousova serving for the title in Berlin 5-2, it has been a very physical match and hot conditions
Championship point for Marketa!
Marketa Vondrusova sends a big message for Wimbledon this year, her first title since she won the Wimbledon title in 2023., as she defeated Wang in 3 sets, in a match that had its ups and downs 76(10) 64 62, this is Marketa's 3rd career title, with all the injuries and time off the tour Marketa has had over the last couple of years, it is great to see her back and playing so well on the grass.
I felt Wang her first WTA final, just ran out of puff in the final set., though a great week for her to play in the final and she did defeat some good players to get to the final.

In the final at Nottingham it has been suspended due to rain Kessler was serving for the 1st set over Yastremska 5-4 when the rain set in
Play resumed Kessler won 64 and has a break in the 2nd set, serving at 4-3
Kessler to serve for the title at 5-4
The rain didnt stop Kessler winning her first grass court title with a 64 75 , this is Kessler's 3rd WTA singles tour title. Well Done!

One other thing I want to say about the Saba comments from RG. This week on TTC I've heard a couple of commies talking about giving her grace. That they shouldn't shove a mic in someone's face straight after a loss. I'm sorry, but all of that is bogus. People have had difficult losses in finals for decades. She is the only one who has an issue when she loses. So the rules should be changed because she doesn't possess any decorum? Yeah, I don't think so. Hire a PR firm or somebody to help you manage your mouth. My momma always said, if you don't have anything nice to say, you better zip it.
