I think he's tried at times... but ultimately he reverts to type. It's not natural for him.

I feel the change was rather in Stan's improvement looking at the fact that he was making way too many errors in the 1st set

Seems like it is one of those Stan days. Didn't think he would/should lose the semi last year and definitely didn't think he would today either.
