You never said what conclusions you drew from my post, you just seemed to warn me about drawing conclusions about the killer coming from the left. I’ve drawn my conclusions about the left long ago, they simply confirm these conclusions every now and then, that they’re intolerant and violent. Do you really think that all these “mostly peaceful riots” are actually protests? The bullying and corralling of Jews on campus? No, they’re violent upheavals by a group that demands that everybody believe the same as they do, and does what they demand. They’re bigotry gone mainstream.

They encourage “protest” and rising up, knowing exactly what they’re doing.

I don’t like Trump. He was wrong when said that.

It absolutely is a shame. A leftist friend of mine from America told me he brought it on himself with his “hateful remarks”, none of which she could find. Not one. Irritated, I reminded her that her gorgeous little daughter is the same age as his eldest child. I asked, can you conceive of any good reason why your beautiful daughter should be going through what his kids are now going through. She got annoyed at me and I may have damaged our friendship, but she still didn’t see that the brutal public killing of a conservative is a terrible thing.

Nobody expects anybody to have heard of every conservative or leftist, but Charlie Kirk was a prominent one, and by the way, I didn’t agree with him about everything either. I recommend you sometimes listen with an open mind to what the other side are saying about issues that matter, even just to check that your side are telling the truth, or even God forbid, to see if your side are getting it wrong…
I don't normally post over here, but this time I will...

First off, no one deserves to die. Second, you can't bring murder on yourself unless it's self-murder in the form of suicide.

As for Kirk, I won't call him a racist or a bigot because I don't profess to know what's in anyone's heart. I'll say he was pro white, pro male, extreme MAGA Christian radical and a card carrying member of the NRA. He said some polarizing things even amongst his own party.

His death is garnering a lot of attention. I normally don't care about such things as attention someone is getting, but I do take issue with some of the proposed actions in my country:
  • Why did the VP skip the 9-11 service yesterday and use Air Force2 to transport his body back home?
  • While I don't agree w/ celebrating anyone's death, why are people being stripped of their 1st amendment right to disagree, talk and post about it?
  • There are talks of laying him to rest in the rotunda (that should only be for elected officials)

Good morning Kskate2!

I don’t know about the “pro white, pro male” stuff but he was definitely a polarising figure, mainly because he strongly - and publicly - challenged the prevailing dogma and cultures.

As for your bullet points, yes. He was only a friend of the president, he wasn’t an elected official, he wasn’t an American in service for his country abroad or at home, he was a private individual, and so these things are all very highly questionable.

An interesting discussion on political violence. Apparently only 58% of Gen Z think that violence is not a proper response to speech. 42% believe it is! That’s terrifying, not only for what it is, but for what it might potentially increase into.

It was always a basic principle that if you lost your head, became angry and start calling your opponent names, you default setting lost the argument. You lost the debate. Think how extremely distant we are from that now, where people don’t even think to disagree politely, and where people think that violence is a proper response to somebody saying something you disagree with.

It’s shocking.

If people are calling him racist because of stuff like this then they are wrong! I believe I made the same case a while ago. Glad I’m not alone

That’s very good, and he’s respectful and polite. He triggers people because he was an effective communicator, I think..

I think it's more than that one piece. But what I've found on social media is most people who call him that don't listen to his entire speech in any one setting. You know how the media works, they take the highlights of what someone said and put it together in one post or video trying to portray an image or a viewpoint. Most folks who didn't like him are easy prey for what others have said or take things out of context. Most are lazy and won't do the necessary of listening to his entire message before forming an opinion.

you're so right. I've seen so many tweets on X with people posting clips of things Kirk said without context, but in most cases if you actually listen to the whole conversation a different picture emerges. I'm not saying the guy is a saint, his comments about the Pelosi assault were disgusting for example. And I for one, not being a Donald Trump fan, I'm not enthused about his relationship with MAGA and Trump Jr. But we've reached a point in political discourse, heck in everyday discourse where accusations of -ism's are thrown around with such reckless abandon they've lost their currency. For example if I point out that a woman has done something wrong, something factual and obvious, someone somewhere will accuse me of misogyny. It's just a reflexive thing that gets used wastefully now. A popular thing now is to call someone a nazi. That's just social media... the fact that mainstream media does the same thing is disappointing and dangerous..

A segment on the Piers Morgan show was quite embarrassing for Cenk from the Young Turks.

He literally exploded when some of his own words and headlines were read back to him.

Still, this is all social engineering in my opinion. There are forces working tirelessly to inflame both ends of the spectrum and there is a chorus of "civil war" coming from all of these gatekeeper influencers (controlled alt-media) like Brand, Cenk, Tate, Bannon and others. Even Kirk's wife was talking about a "battle-cry".

lol! It was a bit of an ambush by Rubin, slightly dirty. But I gotta admit, I burst out laughing when Cenk lost his temper. Folks, watch the clip, I promise you, you'll laugh!:lulz1:

There are so many times leftist friends of mine casually use the words fascists and Nazis that it’s become a shorthand for “person who disagrees with me,” and they seem to believe that it’s ok to say this. That when they call somebody a Nazi, you need to prove the accused is not a Nazi - and not the other way around.

And guess what? The best reply is always to ask them what a Nazi is, what a fascist is. 100% of the time they can’t answer.

There are also prominent democrats who demonise conservatives in the most extreme way, and this violence is a consequence of that..

I'm sorry, but part, no not part, most of me finds that unfunny. This is why I refrain from watching most media. The 2 of of them raising their voices and talking over each other to the horror of other panelists and even the host is such a turnoff to me. I am now looking for a return on my 9 minute investment....

Cenk and his violently bullying outburst in defence of the charge that he incites violence…

I often wonder about the sincerity of some of the people we see, and how much is performative. And that goes for mainstream politicians too. There was a great UK political interrogator Jeremy Paxman - now retired - and he was asked what he was thinking when he was disdainfully badgering high ranking politicians, and he said he looks at them and wonders, “why is this bastard lying to me..?”

I don't doubt that a lot of it is performative. Some who arrogantly find themselves on the air all the time just can't help themselves. They love to hear their own voice and believe everything they say is right, true and just. Oh well, I've had my fun over here. Back to what I know best. NFL Sunday.... See ya on the other side.

sorry to inflict that on you @kskate2 maybe it's the guy in me that found it funny. FYI Piers would have loved that. The engagement on his platform would have been awesome for him
