While those are all good points, our worry is that Trump is all whim and no real contemplation.

1. Trump may not be intelligent enough to realize he is starting WW3.

He's a pussy.

lol you're acting as if Trump was just on his own, floating in the air or something....... and think that in his lonely craziness he will do something very crazy.....

I don't know why that is when we know there's the Russian jewish mafia behind him, there are the Kushners behind him, all of those people who have his balls firmly in their grasp........ now those are power and money hungry people who are using him to grab more power, they won't let him do something very stupid.....

The reason he's treating people like objects and shit is 'cause that's the thinking the people behind him and he's into..... Remember when he was talking about screwing the terrorists through their families? that's typical mafia thinking..: http://edition.cnn.com/2015/12/02/politics/donald-trump-terrorists-families/index.html That's how they'll handle all the dissenting voices, the congress bigmouths, the judges who don't support them and everybody.....

So while most people are waiting for some big meltdown or impeachment i'm actually expecting them to take out all the opposition one by one and bigger and bigger silence.....

We in Europe maybe don't have some of the insight the Americans have but i can tell you here nobody has written off Trump yet.... ofc we have written him off as a good ally but not as a player....... People see him on Putin's, Erdogan's, Orbán's level... we're expecting him to kill off the opposition slowly but surely and to silence all the dissenting voices...... He's got exactly the kinda people behind him who are fit for that job....

There's a contradiction there. First you say he may not be intelligent enough to realise he's starting WW3 and then you say he might calculate that impeachment would be off the table in a WW3 scenario?

No, there is no contradiction. I was just taking care of both possibilities. It is kind of hard to say as to whether Trump is being stupid or he is fully aware of implications of his behavior and is making calculated moves. In either case, he may hit NK if the end game is near and he feels that Muller is just ready to publish scathing findings.

I think it's both. We perceive some of the things he does as stupid but he makes calculated moves to distract from the prevailing news cycle. My point to you is that the WH is not as much vested in one persons caprice as some suggest. For something like bombing NK the outcome would be far worse than altering the news cycle. Trump is afraid of people finding out about his finances clearly, getting impeached or removed from office makes that outcome more certain. He may do seemingly crazy things but they are attention grabbing not hugely significant. If you think about what his motives are he's not so crazy at all. He's not a brave man either

Wow! The Mooch is out on his ear! With friends like the Donald who needs enemies. Right decision, by I presume General Kelly. But it almost makes me feel sorry for Scaramucci. Will the sale of his business get through? He'll get no tax benefits now, and on top of that his wife filed for divorce because she can't stand Trump. I doubt she comes back. That has to suck for the Mooch

Mr Scaramucci is out. His tenure lasted only 11 days. I can't keep up with the stories coming out of the White House, but I am enjoying the circus. It looks like Kelly has something to do with Scaramucci''s departure.

Don't forget that his wife also gave birth to his son this week, in addition to filing for divorce. He definitely ticks a lot of boxes for high stress. But I don't feel the least bit sorry for him.

The irony is mooch said that he is going to fire everybody around. But, he got fired in the end. A classic lesson in not letting things go to your head.

It hear that Mr Scaramucci was escorted from the White House, for good measure.

All the press seems to have is that his wife didn't agree with his politics. Somehow, I'm not buying this as a reason for divorce. More will come out on this, I expect.

So I see that Trump and Sessions are going after affirmative action in universities. As a libertarian I don't have an issue with it in theory. My issue I guess is that if you're not going to compensate the African American ancestors of slaves financially, affirmative action seems to be the way to do it. But setting that aside, if the American education system has evolved to the state where the poor (irrespective of colour) are not disadvantaged by inferior schooling then perhaps affirmative action is no longer necessary. What gets me though, is that if the claim is that affirmative action is fundamentally unfair, are they also going to sue universities for allowing the children of the wealthy who don't meet admission standards? That would seem to be the meritocratic thing to do surely?

Mueller has impaneled a Grand Jury, and it has issued subpoenas in the Russian collusion probe. According to former federal prosecutors, this is not done without a certain amount of evidence of criminal activity. However, it doesn't assure that there will be charges, and probably implies there is a long way to go.

I think end game is nearer than many of us think. But, the only unfortunate thing is that, I don't even like any of the next 12 folks in line for succession. :help:

^I think you're right! While I don't feel sorry for Trump... I have to say the leaking of the phone calls to world leaders is a scale of leaking I've never seen before. Things are completely out of control. I don't think this is just about hating Trump. There is a persistence and pathology to this that makes me feel that people around him actually know the specifics of Trump's corruption and see it as their patriotic duty to destabilise him. It is really quite blatant and shocking

The thing with Mr Trump is that he has become more obnoxious than ever before. He attacks whoever he likes, whenever he likes, and he lies so routinely that everything he says has to be taken with a pinch of salt. With that kind of behavior, he has made enemies everywhere, and they are more than happy to taint his image. He should remember that he is the POTUS, and if he thinks that he can silence people by attacking them, he is mistaken. Surprisingly, he can not see that his muscular approach is not working, and clearly he is not as smart as he wants people to think he is.

Interesting, a neo-nazi terrorist attack, and Cali isn't hear spamming us with threads. I wonder why... Trump of course, took the softest possible stance you could imagine. But yeah, he doesn't promote racism.

It's funny, I hadn't seen the incident when I watched Trump's speech. My initial assumption when I heard his words was that someone had driven the car into the KKK guys. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised. He's boxed himself into a corner because during the election he made a point of going after Obama and Clinton because they didn't want to use the phrase "radical islamic terrorist". Now the question has to be asked, is he going to talk about white nationalist terrorism? If the lorry in Nice was terrorism, this is surely the same!
