Great comments section in the article, but this one stood out:

Has Lady Justice had her blindfold removed and replaced with a different type of head ware?

This was behind a paywall for me, but I got the gist. It’s happening everywhere. If we ignore the icky violent bits, Islam is a great fun addition at the party. And if we notice the unacceptable and intolerant sides, then we’re told to ignore them. I don’t understand this neglect of great enlightenment virtues, such as a commitment to liberty, reason, scepticism, and the right to be critical of religious thought. Tolerance too, towards different ideas.

Islamic states didn’t go through an Age of Enlightenment, and we’re going to suffer for that..

This is shocking/not shocking. It’s incredible really. I know the left love to wet themselves crying about tyranny but when the government is ordering the media to follow an agenda that influences thought - as we saw with the main social media companies during covid - then this is de facto tyranny. Once you control thought, you control people.

It happens here too, our national stations parrot left wing talking points as fact, and if they interview an opposing voice, which must be included in their charter of “fairness”, they make certain to warn people, this is the “right wing” commentator, who we’re supposed to read between the lines and conclude that they’re a fascist crackpot.

They never introduce their sources as “left wing”.

Maybe we should be a little more nuanced about blaming wings... I don't imagine any poster on here welcomes an authoritarian tyranny of any blend. However, that seems to be the pattern developing in many countries - in one country it will be a left wing, another will be right wing... it doesn't really matter if the result is the same. Just a case of simple Divide and Rule. Maybe the masses should be looking at what they have in common - i.e. not wanting a tyrannical dictatorship being a starting point.

That’s true brother, but we live in a cultural tyranny that - without question - normalises deranged behaviour and silences people who stand for what’s always known to be true. We saw it during covid and we still see it.

EDIT: The people who are the least tolerant of opposing views do want tyranny. They’re actively silencing and cancelling people who disagree.

Look at this. This woman is standing for women’s rights and she’s being thrown out of her gym. We’ve mainstreamed this sickness - and that’s because we live in a cultural tyranny that’s been forced on us by the left:

This is scary. I don’t know who gets the blame for this:

Friend? Dafuq!! I swear, modern people aren’t healthy for us. She’s worst off than her attacker!
I thought the same thing. This is what it must have been like in 30s Germany and 90s Yugoslavia. Afraid that a neighbour, a friend... might just betray you out of the blue. It's actually scary

Yeah, the missus is Lithuanian, she was part of the human chain stretching 600km through the Baltic States in 1989. She said one in any group of four people could be reckoned to be a spy or a snitch. Terrifying society!!

It’s a coming thing and a dangerous topic, but there’s so many red flags in terms of government control and so on, it makes me wonder what a benevolent advert for it might sound like.

It reminds me of the third season of Broadchurch which we finished recently, where, due to the nature of a terrible crime, guests at a party were asked to provide a dna sample. They were told it was only for the purpose of the investigation but there were still some hold outs.

My initial thought was, given the nature of the crime, I think I’d give a sample, but then I thought, if I’m innocent I don’t need to prove that, and what if this dna sample falls into the wrong hands?

These matters are rarely simple..
