I agree, though the facts have never been the issue. She was ideologically captured, and now she isn’t. That does take courage, especially given how crazy her old team are…

Possibly. But here's an alternative... there's a lot of bad research out there. We know this for a fact, and a lot of that data is used in newer research, so basically castles built from sand. By the way the Mckinsey study on diversity, upon which DEI has been built has been widely debunked by quality social scientists, but it's still being used to support pseudo-science. It's not unusual for good scientists to rely on what they believe is legitimate peer reviewed research. What I admire about this person is that at some point they came to understand that something in the research or observable data showed that the approach was wrong. She took the appropriate steps to fix things. I can only wish that others would do the same. Unless there's evidence she was ideologically captured, and for the record I tend to believe that those that are won't change even if the truth slapped them in the face, I'm inclined to believe her original error was an honest one

This is it, but it also highlights the difficulty of talking with indoctrinated tribalists. Completely incapable of thinking outside their party talking points, incapable of questioning their own position. I know this woman is probably an extreme example, typical of the idiot “activist” class…but she might also be saying the quiet part out loud too, you know?
