I'm almost ready to see Roger sent packing. His form doesn't bode well for later. Does it really make a difference if it's now or in the next two rounds?

I'm actively starting to want Gulbis to win this now. Continually hitting to the Gulbis backhand is just retarded

Well if Roger survives the Bert and Ernie show he will be getting yet another beatdown from Berdych, there is no doubt about that.

I simply can't understand the strategy. It may have worked in the past (breaking down the Gulbis strength) but 2 things have changed...

1, Gulbis is better
2, Roger is worse

^ I am not sure he is surviving this but if he does, I agree. Only way I see him beating Bird is that they play in a piping hot, dry day where he can hit through the guy and the conditions are fast and he just attacks.

I wish Ernie could put it together more often and more consistently throughout the match. No way he'd be outside the top 10.

Yeah it does. I don't think Federer will win the tournament. With your logic, he wouldn't bother entering.

Gulbis breaks. That was a good game from him. Bad shanks from Roger though.

Man Gulbis is on fire right now. Roger threw the kitchen sink at him that game.

Roger would also get back to #3 if he makes the semis. That doesn't affect his draws but it'd still be nice.

Roger cannot hit through Ernie. Since he is not going to get more powerful in the next 5 minutes, maybe it would be good to send a couple of rackets to get restrung a bit looser for the next set.

The only positive to this and the Rome disasters is that Roger will be plenty fresh for Wimbledon. That's when his season really starts now anyways.
