one of the hardest achievements of tennis . To do it year after year deserves respect . Your thoughts on this streak and how it will be viewed in the years to come

Amazing achievement. Consistency is what makes greats great, not a tournament here, a shot there...Bringing the lunch pail every day, year after year. The streak might be over, but Rafa can easily come back and win a couple more of these...

I think it will be viewed in context with Nadal's clay court dominance. When people bring up how good he was on clay in a few years, they'll mention his dominance at Roland Garros as well as the Masters 1000 events, and put things in perspective by bringing up winning Monte Carlo 8 years in a row.

Historic dominance of a single tournament.

Also I think the excitement of Djokovic fans like myself is a testament to how much respect there is for Nadal on clay and his unparalleled achievements on that surface.

For me, his win today meant almost more than his AO earlier this year. And yes, this record of 8 masters in a row Nadal holds, will not be matched probably ever again, or at least until I will be atound:D
