Am I the only one here who loves both Federer and Nadal as tennis players? I think they're both excellent, and two of the biggest reasons as to why I watch and follow tennis.

Absolutely not. I used to be a Federer fan, then switched to being a Rafa fan several years ago, but I still love Roger. The change didn't require going from loving him to hating him. In fact, I still always root for Federer -- except when he's playing Rafa.

They're two of the greatest players in the history of the sport. How people can't appreciate both -- and understand how lucky we are that they're playing at the same time -- is beyond me.

I'm having difficulty finding posts regarding Halle in this thread.

It's so polluted with the usual Federer-Nadal debating that it might as well be renamed.

Respectfully, can the mods move these off topic posts somewhere else? I suppose deleting them would also be an option.

Respectfully,
masterclass

Why don't we have a "Fedal Battle Royale" thread to which all discussions of Fedal can be re-directed?

You are right Masterclass but there are three certainties in life : Death, taxes, and every thread sooner or later leading to a Fedal discussion. I am not sure it is avoidable but I agree it pollutes more than enhances in most cases.

Last two times Falla and Roger met on grass, Falla made life miserable for Roger. I am not expecting anything different today.

I hope we have a good match today.

Because it's more fun having an affair than staying at home - or so I'm told... :p

Thinking of the final, Falla is in the healthy position of being a complete underdog, but one who made Roger work hard the last two times they met on grass. So he can take a swing at it knowing he's landed blows before, which might make this an interesting workout for Roger...

I'm pretty sure the extra bit of scrolling up or down to find posts about Halle would require less work than moving "off topic" posts or needlessly deleting them.

^Well, honestly it started earlier , with the Tsonga match in Wimbledon BS. That was the reverse though...he thought he WON that match after leading 2-0.

A break point for Roger. He consolidates, he serves for the first set...and he does.

Aside from the serve he didn't look particularly good yesterday and today is no different. We will see his draw at Wimbledon but I would be surprised if he has a decent run.

First set to Roger. Let's see if he can put the foot on the pedal now and close this quicker.

That running forehand pass from Roger is something I miss. It does not happen everyday these days.

Very good tiebreak from Roger. On top of serving well I feel that Roger's backhand or return has to be good. Neither have been terrible the past couple matches but not great either.
