Rajeev Ram and Scott Lipsky can now tell their grandchildren someday that they won a
match in Ashe stadium. Move out of here folks and let the singles begin.

RE: US Open Day 9: Tuesday, September 2

Expect the organizers to move the Bryans doubles match to Ashe if the Gale-Grigor match
ends before 4.30 p.m.

Bryans are going for their 100th title here and so expect more showcasing of them
this year in bigger courts than normal.

They moved the Bryan's match to Grandstand from Armstorng as Cilic-Simon is not yet
done and Berdych-Thiem is waiting also. They should have started at 11 in Armstrong too.

They're into the semis, still en route to their 100th title.

Wow! I was going to say that... just saw a match with two guys in each side!!! Never tought it could be done...

...and never saw a thread about doubles on this forum.

...joking aside one point from the Ram Lipsky match was simply amazing.

BTW, two of my countrymen doing well at the doubles lately. Strange thing is that they are both doing much better now than when they were playing together.

The Bryans defeated Lipsky/Ram in the semis: 6-4, 4-6, 6-3

They're into Sunday's final, looking for their 100th title.

BB's grandslam performance this year is very bad. 4th round in AO, QF in RG, runner up
in Wimby. Last year they had won all three of those and came into USO with the possibility
of winning Calendar Grand Slam which was thwarted by Worm and Paes.

But, I think BB will get their 100th in style at NY.

Pretty nice looking final. Granollers and Lopez are both good doubles players.

Does anyone know what happened to Mahesh Bhupathi? I don't see his name in doubles
these days. Has he officially retired or just AWOL.

He was also trying to act like an agent for promoting Murray and making him a brand.

He owns a company called Globesport or something like that and I think he is the
principal organizer behind a stupid exhibition type event that is starting this year
after the WTF is over. I forgot the exact name of the event. It some what like
WTT being played in US (which is another waste of time). This is being played in
multiple countries such as India, Dubai, Singapore, Malaysia etc and the top players
are getting boatloads of money to play in it.

Anyway, with all his extracurricular activities, it looks like he forgot to play tennis
these days.

:clap Congrats to the Bryan brothers on their 100th title! :clap :celeb:

Plus, it was their 16th Major.

Most Majors and most titles for a doubles team: stunning accomplishments, which may never be surpassed.

If you didn't catch it, the Tennis Channel will replay it soon. It's not too long, and it's a lot of fun.

Yeah, the Bryan Bros are a remarkable team. It's been a bit like Serena's season, a lot of shocking results in the majors, then they came good at the end. I still think back to the incredible opportunity they had last year, to win the Calendar Year Slam. I wonder if it affected them this year.

But well done to them. Ten seasons in a row winning majors too... :clap

I think it did. That was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and they blew it. The pressure got to them. When they lost to Paes/Stepanek they were extremely nervous. I think the loss haunted them until this USO.
