About the tournament:

The Chengdu Open, which debuted in 2016, joins Shenzhen, Beijing, and Shanghai as Chinese hosts during the ATP World Tour's Asian swing. The venue in Chengdu boasts a modern facility with a centre court capacity of 6,000, two additional show courts with 2,000 seats each, and a total of 20 hard courts and 12 indoor courts.

About Chengdu:

Chengdu is the capital of southwestern China's Sichuan province. Chengdu's history dates back to at least the 4th century B.C., when it served as capital for the Shu Kingdom. Artifacts from that dynasty are the focus of the Jinsha Site Museum. The city is also home to the famous Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, a conservation center where visitors can view endangered giant pandas in a natural habitat.

Don't know much about this Bublik. Has anyone seen him play? I looked him up. He's 22, 6'6", mostly been playing challengers, but lost in the final to Isner on grass at Newport this years. Seems to like the grass.

Some think Kyrgios is his favorite player due to often use of underarm serve and various trick shots. He seems to enjoy on court way more than Nick. A guy has a huge serve, but can also double fault due to risk he takes. He plays high risk tennis in general, but does whatever he feels like doing, kind of like Nick, tries to be unpredictable. I am sure we are going to see more of him in future and not only on small events. He gave a hard time to Thiem this year in RG, should have taken that match to 5th set, think he had 5:2 lead in the 4th.

Denis fails once again to make his first ATP final, when he actually was the highest ranked left among the last 4 in the SF.
He lost to PCB in straight sets.
Bublik makes his first final by beating Harris.

Congrats to Pablo. What is interesting, he came up into the top 100 on a string of victories on clay in the challenger tour, and now he has 3 titles on HC and only 1 on dirt.
