Better call Saul

I haven't seen any of these yet from the Breaking Bad spin-off... anyone else seen the early episodes? What do you think?

Not digging it so far. It's well done, clever as expected, but not terribly exciting IMO. Only 4 episodes in though so it's early of course.

One problem that I have is that they are even bothering to show how he became "Saul". I rather just see the full Saul as we know him. As of now they are trying to make a show that should be mostly a comedy with a lot of drama, into a show with a lot of (uninteresting) drama with not much comedy sprinkled in.

I have faith in Gilligan though, I do expect this show will get quite a bit better before the end of the season.

It took awhile but Better Call Saul has definitely picked up now the past couple weeks. Also the episode on Mike's past was excellent, a true Breaking Bad style episode. Season finale is next week.
