Coco goes through 6/2 6/2 - good business like performance. I switched over to watch the second set when I couldn't suffer the Opelka/Davidovich Fokina match any longer.

Just reading the 'excuses' why Raducanu lost her match, I wonder if she will make another coach change as Roig is her 9th coach since she turned pro.
" I think I want to be playing a different way.I just want to hit the ball to the corners and hard. I feel like I'm doing all this variety and its not doling what I want it to do".

I watch highlights of her match, in my opinion she needs to play more matches, be more aggressive and get match fit, she was flat today and that dosent work against aggressive hitters.

Same to you, nothing better than midnight tennis to start the year! :)
Suffer :) for once I get to watch tennis on my time line and in the day before the tour leaves Aussie and I become a Zombie again for the rest of the year :)
BTW I will be going to AO this year in the 2nd week.

BTW Potapova who defeated Raducanu in straight sets is competing with a broken finger. Potapova, Russian born, has now become an Austrian citizen.'
Potapova plays Sabalenka next and said,
"I am in the 3rd round, I have nothing to lose.I have a broken finger,,I'm still enjoying tennis.I will just try to go there and make the best of it".

Defending champion Madison Keys 61 75 over Krueger
1st set flawless, she was down 2-5 in the 2nd set and won the last 5 games, nicely done Madison, stretching her AO winning streak to 9.

Apparently Jess Peguula (6) has a 'hot lunch date' dismisses Kessler in 2 easy sets 60 62

Paula Badosa (25) last years SF bows out to Selekhmeteva ranked #101 in straight sets 64 64

Ostapenko (24) who is having more success of late on the doubles court, than singles, goes out to X.Wang 46 64 64

Naomi Osaka won today 6-4 4-6 6-2 after a really good match against Cirstea, but it was this outfit that was talked about after the match and people in the stands have started using the headgear - quite nice I think

The butterfly on her hat is a memory from her AO in 2021, where a butterfly "attacked" her a couple of times in her 3rd round match against Ons Jabeur
