Rotterdam

The Rotterdam Open is one of the standout stops on the indoor hard-court swing, combining elite tennis with a city that thrives on reinvention. Officially known as the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament, this ATP 500 event has long been a favourite with players and fans alike, thanks to its fast conditions, knowledgeable crowds, and consistently strong fields. Staged indoors at Rotterdam Ahoy, it often serves as an early-season litmus test for form, with champions here frequently carrying momentum into the rest of the year.

The setting is fitting. Rotterdam is unlike any other Dutch city - bold, modern, and forward-looking. Largely rebuilt after heavy bombing in World War II, Rotterdam embraced contemporary architecture rather than restoring the past, resulting in a striking skyline defined by daring design, wide waterways, and Europe’s largest port. It’s a city shaped by trade, resilience, and international influence, sitting at the gateway to the Rhine-Meuse delta and the North Sea.

With its no-nonsense character, cutting-edge venues, and deep sporting culture, Rotterdam feels perfectly matched to an indoor tournament that rewards precision, power, and nerve. The Rotterdam Open isn’t just another week on the calendar - it’s where sharp tennis meets a city that does things its own way.

A stadium walkthrough:

Rotterdam Ahoy is a multi-purpose complex with a convention centre and an indoor arena. During the Rotterdam Open the arena is typically set up at just under 15,000 seats.

Meddy being Meddy was fuming over the tennis ball in his defeat against Humbert, received a code violation for swearing
Asked the umpire 'Why have tennis changed the balls which players are they favors with the change?
Meddy goes out in his first round match in 3 sets, 76(4) 36 63
BTW the courts look slow to me

So did I, oh well back to the drawing board for Meddy
I just looked up his age and see he is turning 30 in 2 days. He's running out of road for going back to the drawing board, for a guy who has won a Major. I wonder if he's ever going to get out of his own way now.

Quite frankly Meddy wont win another major, most of his losses are due to his loss of focus in matches, eg today carrying on about the balls? the only person he disrupts is himself, when I say he has to go back to the drawing board, he needs to go back to the 'fundamentals of our game' for starters.

He sure has wasted some valuable prime time being mediocre and a hothead

FFA played the best match all week and took care of Bublik 61 62
My Canadian tennis friend just texted me and said if there was a current GS indoors, Felix would be a GS champion by now :)
8-0 on indoor HC this season
Into the final in Rotterdam for the 3rd time in his career
Felix will play de Minaur in the final.
Alex probably counting his blessings that Sinner or Alcaraz arent in the final in 2026, but he will have his hands full with Felix who leads their H2H 3-1

Felix leading the ATP with over 90 hard court wins since 2020. Job well done again today. He will have a hard time putting Speedy Gonzales away but if he volleys well, he will pull it off.
