When the new rankings come out on Monday,

Amanda will go to No 4 and Aryna will stay at No 1 defending her title, she was 2,600 points ahead in the live rankings before this match, she held onto the No 1 ranking when she made the QFs at the USO.

BTW AF and myself were the only 2 posters correct with Sabalenka winning,
Actually AF predicated Sabalenka to win in 2 sets, I said 3 sets.

Very good call Margaret, kskate and Moxie, congrats !

Do you think if she broken in that opening game ( where she had three break points) might've set the tone for the rest of the match, to her favour ?

not sure. woulda, shoulda, coulda. She was definitely the more aggressive, but she wasn't quite ready for the moment.

Not really, she also made a lot of UFE in the match when it mattered, also she let the lights affect her, still making 2 GS finals is still a good result, she has always been one of my favorite players she has got the full learning experience in GS tennis
My wise Papa said to me sometimes you have to lose a GS final in order to know how to win one, I have always remembered that

another question, was playing with the roof closed more of an advantage to Arnya's game?

We remember, i'm sure, how frustrated she was during the RG final by the wind.

a fascinating look here on flashscore stats - 22 winners by Amanda to Ayrna's 13 but, on the flip side, there was 29 U.E to Aryna's 15.

That was the down side for Amanda the UFE 29? she will learn and address that stat next time, she has come on in leaps and bounds this year

the roof is an advantage to both because they hit so hard, they can really measure their shots better w/o any elements. Saba just handled it better, but she had those losses this year to draw from. AA will have these 2 losses to draw from next time. Hopefully she gets it done in the next one.

Actually with the roof being closed it helped both players, because they are hard hitters of the ball

my godfather,

I wanna see Amanda prevail in these GS, probably best chance would be either USO or Australian Open as her game is suited to hardcourts. Bring it On :good:

she's a flat ball hitter. she's good on all surfaces and made her debut at the SF of RG when she was 17

Amanda game suits Wimbledon, fast surfaces are her best, dont let that double bagel put anyone off, she learned from that and beat Iga at the USO, not bad on clay as well

I don't know about that. Because it's not as though either lady had a prior match in this championship with the roof closed.

Most flat hard hitters would love the roof to be closed most of the time not possible unless it is an indoor tournament, unless it rains of course as these tournaments are played outdoors in the Summer

AA's game is very similar to Saba. She can go watch some of Saba's matches and learn how she went from a ball basher to a thinker out there. I mean she still kills her fair share of balls, but she does use her brain more out there.
