Saba did not adjust to the windy conditions at all, she just kept hitting the ball harder hoping he shots would find the lines, she played with no margin at all,
Coco the smarter clay court player kept making her play 'one more shot' also kept her shots deep to Saba,
No player can expect to win a match with 70 UFE?, like Saba did, while Coco kept her W 30 and her UFE 30 in a much cleaner match due to the windy conditions

It's academic now and would'nt have made a difference because Coco is mentally stronger competitor, but when windy days have been forecasted, why can't Roland Garros close the roof ?

We would have gotten a better quality match. The final was highly competitive but with too many unforced errors.

We would have gotten a better quality match. The final was highly competitive but with too many unforced errors.

The roof is only closed due to wet weather
The wind swirls around Chatrier, it is the worst stadium out of all at RG, I have personally witnessed it many times over the years

Then to me it makes sense to have the roofs closed in the mens and womens GS finals, in the event of reasonably strong windy day forecasts. It's their duty to stage these finals in the best conditions.

It is a Summer competition to start with and it is meant to be played 'outside' at all times, same with the other GS, except if there is rain and thunderstorms

I understand this, but by the same token, the times have changed, these GS all have roofs available. In that regard, the GS organizers have a duty to provide tennis finals both to their local audience and to worldwide audience in the best possible climate.
There's no doubt the windy weather took a lot away from what could have been a Great final.

Well it is up to any player to adjust to any conditions, eg wind, it probably did take away in the womens final, in saying that I still felt Coco was the better overall clay player, her game is just suited to clay, and I often thought she would win her 1st GS on clay, though she won it at the USO.
In the past we have had 'heat wave' conditions in places like Australia and US, thank god there is heat wave rule which is in place for the players

It’s an outdoor event, the roof is in case of rain, only..
