Who wins the rematch of the 2023 US Open Final between World #1 and World #2?

Does Sabalenka get revenge, or does Coco roll again?

I think Saba gets her revenge. She seems so motivated after the AO loss, but Gauff is arguably a best defender on women's tour right now. I hope for an interesting final and let the better player win, I like them both.

Weird first set between these two. Saba should have finished it like 30 minutes ago, but Coco fought back and almost got it through TB, but Saba finally played with more patience and it paid off. 1st set to Saba.

Crazy last game and Coco wins. Well deserved girl, I think she has more of a champion mentality than Sabalenka.

So happy for Coco, but also sad for Irina. I love watching Sabalenka play and she seems like a genuinely warm and friendly person. Hope she grabs one of the two remaining ones this year

Great job by Roland Garros on Coco's mic (sarcasm).

I like Aryna, but didn't like her melodrama about playing like crap in the final. Even if true, a bit disrespectful to Coco.

yes I have to agree. Irina's comment did make me a bit uncomfortable even though I felt she was beating herself up. Those conditions looked tough!

I only watched the last half of the third set, and she definitely seemed to be a bit off/erratic. But I was also really impressed with Coco's defense - how she withstood the Sabalenka onslaughts and managed to get those balls in court.

I think as the match progressed it was clear that Coco's game gave her far more margin in these conditions. She got more and more belief, and if her serve was a bit better she might have won more comfortably

I don't like either but I find Sabalenka's ridiculous screaming absolutely unbearable. The WTA shouldn't allow that crap. It's a clear hindrance and essentially cheating 'cos it's bound to put the opponent off. She sounds like a sheep or goat being violated by a T-Rex ffs. I'm glad Gauff won 'cos she doesn't make that ridiculous noise.

Just a quick comment from me as I just finished watching the match on delay ( next time I wont take a vacation in my favorite time of the year, clay :)

Saba,
Playing a great defensive player like Coco forces you to decrease the margins and take bigger risks, hence a very high unforced error rate! you had in the match,on clay especially you need to have a low ufe rate.
You didnt adjust to the windy conditions, and Coco did and deserved her 2nd GS title.
Well done Coco I have often said your game suits clay to a 'Tee" and you become the first American to win RG since Serena Williams in 2015!

She looked frustrated during the match as if she is better than her opponent. Well show it on a court, find a way. She thinks all those UEs came because she had a bad day, while in reality Coco just forced her to play one more shot and was also quite agressive in her defence game. No credit given to Coco for that. Then she came up very sour in the presser, bringing up potential match up of Coco and Iga in the final. Wtf? Coco on the other hand way more mature and composed during the whole match.

Just saw your post to me Don,
Agree, also Coco played with great depth in the match, in very windy conditions, forcing her to play one more shot, Coco played intelligent tennis in windy conditions, played with calm even when she was behind.
You know I feel Saba played her final against Iga and didnt turn up in the final, I am not taking anything away from Coco's win at all, just an observation on my part, and again Saba did not adjust her game to the windy conditions, you cant expect to win a match with 70 UFE Coco had 30 W and 30 UFE in windy conditions a good result

Been out all day. Finally watched the recording. I knew the match would play out this way, that's why I voted Coco in 3. Gauff always gets a ton of balls back and forces Saba into errors. This is why the H2H is tied. Most of their matches play out like this. Coco is the better clay courter. She also has the final she lost here to draw from.

I was extremely disappointed in Saba's remarks during the trophy ceremony. Girl, stop publicly making this about you. She is a sore loser. Did the same thing to Keys in Oz and Mirra in IW
