The Brisbane curse continues. MLB (Lucic-Baroni) dismisses commentators pick Pliskova in 3 sets. Congrats Mirjana! :clap

I don't think her game has deteriorated that badly. Her second serve is no longer as lethal as it once was and her ground game isn't as consistent as it used to be, but she is still deadly. Still, any slams that she plans on winning though she better do this year because I can see the dip you are talking about and it is only going to get harder with age.

Serena's first serve % is abysmal;

And yet despite all that she's serving for the match and closes it in straights

I hope Serena takes AO. She usually plays better when she gets a slam under her belt early. If not Serena, hopefully Venus can win one more.

In mixed doubles all seeds are gone, except for seeds 1(BMS & MB) and 2 (Sania and Dodig). Unseeded Paes and Martina are still in the mix. QFs to be played now.
