NBC will carry the matches live from 1PM to 4 PM EDT this sunday. If you don't have tennis channel, do not miss this opportunity to see tennis on old fashioned TV as it won't happen again until next weekend. :cry

Considering matches starts at 5AM EDT, by the time NBC is ready to telecast matches, almost all matches would have been over (if there is no rain delay) as they would have played for about 8 hours before that.

Dimi vs. Troicki. I don't know that Dimi gets out of the first round. Viktor played reasonably well in the warm-ups. Dr. Ivo vs Montanes, Samurai vs Bolleli and Chardy vs Mayer all seem interesting.

Hope Gabashvili is in good form as he can be decent on clay at times. Not sure I'll actually watch much of the first day as none of those matches really interest me but wouldn't surprise me if Bolelli gave Nishikori a tough match.

Dimitrov Troicki can indeed be a good match.

Nicky's rep follows him around. Ramos unfairly gives him a warning because he asks for a towel the wrong way! What? :wow:

NBC has always been terrible. Are they aware that people do not like the way they cover sport? Its time people make themselves heard, if there is a way to do it. NBC can't stop be being obnoxious. If I remember correctly, they are the ones who offered millions of dollars to Paris Hilton for an interview after a DUI incident.

Marco Cecchinato who played Kyrgios has a really nice game. Had never watched him before. Cheers for the highlights pavlik. Nick had to really play well to win in 3 there and the guy looks like he would've given many players hell. Very hard and clean hitting and decent serving. Only 23 and definite potential there. Looks like there's potential to be a better version of Nishikori to me.

...I would like him much more if he had taken Kyrgios out.

Yep, this is the only match I am planning to watch. Early prediction is for Grigor to continue his slump.:cover

0. As if the tourney is not already dull without Fed and Monfils, now the bad weather makes it worse.

1. Rafa and rain does not mix well.:devil

2. Somebody will get screwed by having to play for 3 or 4 days in a row. :nono

Well Nole was definitely hosed last year waiting for Stan to finish his long match, then had a break due to rain having play 3 days in a row! No excuses though; Stan was "in the zone" and outplayed him on clay of all places! :nono

No way. Not saying he doesn't have potential, but that's a stretch, I'm my opinion and either undervalues Kei, who is an excellent player, on par with someone like Ferrer or Davydenko, or at least close to it. Do you really think Cecchinato has that kind of potential?

Even taking a tiny sample there he appears to have a better serve, hits deeper and cleaner and makes less errors. Not expecting better results than Nishikori but in merely that clip posted by pavlik, he played better than I've seen from Nishikori a lot in the past 2 years at least.

I too saw that match (as by the time NBC got ready to show live matches, RG already decided to close shop for the day and so they were showing this match). Cecchinato is quite good, especially in the ball-striking department.

I don't get it. If Cecchinato is that good, why doesn't he have better results? The guy has been pro since 2010 and basically been hanging out in Challengers and Futures. He's got a 3-18 record in ATP Pro Tour matches so far.

Not saying that he can't be a late-ish bloomer and be a good player, but saying that he has more potential than Kei Nishikori, a top 5 player, is stretching it, imo.

I agree with you, but since you (apparently) put Ferrer in the same level as Davydenko, I will pretend that I don´t.
