I am not pleased with the result, but what can you say? What Novak did to Roger in the first two sets – – on a hardcourt of all places to (recall that Federer has the most majors and most overall titles on hard courts)-- no one has ever done to him before. The level Novak was exhibiting in the first 50 minutes of this match basically won the match and was unlike anything Roger has ever seen. I personally believe it was even superior to Rafael Nadal did in the 2008 French Open. Yep, Roger Claude his way back in and actually won a competitive set against Novak in the third. The fourth set was likewise competitive, but Novak hit a passing shot the clip the top of the net that Roger's racquet was right there to put away a volley up the line and instead of it being 40–30, it was 30–40 and breakpoint against Roger. To his credit, Novak won that game and then served it out like a champion to win 6-3 in The fourth. Novak was at an unbelievable level from the back of the court. He destroyed not all a few weeks ago playing like this and he basically did the same against Roger. He will win his sixth Australian open and he will definitely win more majors this year in my view. I thought he would have a bit of a letdown from last year, but I'm not so certain anymore. Many things may have to be adjusted and he may very well Fly right by Rafael and Pete in the next year or two It is scary how much he has separated himself from everyone else. I know I should not say that it is his title already, but I sincerely believe neither Andy nor Milosz can come close to this level for long enough to beat him. You would have to play like a backboard with no pace and drive him nuts, the way not all used to do to Roger. Even then, I think he is mentally so strong now that he would find away in the biggest moments to overcome that. He is so focused and so on fire from the back of the court. Wow!
