I am picking Emma to win,to me she plays with more power, more offensive minded with margin, also has the ability to take the racket out of her opponents hands,as we have seen in some of her previous matches, her movement is also a feature.

I am certain we will see a competitive match with these two teenagers who have made watching this year's USO women's draw pan out a 'memorable one'....if anyone told me at the start of this tournament we would have these two teenagers in a final I would probably think they were on some type of medication:)

Good Luck to Leylah and Emma both you young ladies deserve to be in the final.

Yes but i want , am choosing Leylah to win, in a three set BARNBURNER. She's got destiny on her side. You must factor in the calibre of top players she's defeated to reach the final and how close she came to losing only to fight her way out and come back to win. To me that reeks of DESTINY. This final is a promoter's dream !

This is a whole new ball game, as I am not factoring in the fact of how many top players Leylah beat or that Emma has not lost a set on her way to the final, that is past tense to me.Lets see how Emma and Leylah play each other in the final.

First teenage final this century, since 1999 U.S. Open where ,then 17 year old Serena Williams defeats Martina Hingis (then 18).

For Canada-born British player Emma Raducanu ranked 150, she's the first qualifier in history to reach a Grand Slam final, and without losing a set !

For Fernandez, ranked #73 , she's beaten three rivals ranked in the top five at a Grand Slam. She has matched Serena's 2012 Wimbledon feat in that respect.

Well said.

Aww Margaret. Just moments ago the Port Adelaide Magpies who won 10 games in a row, have gone down in a absolute shocker 71 points to Western Bulldogs at the football at our adelaide oval.:-( They seemed to lack intensity and aggression, not unlike some of the tennis players on the tour nowadays. The magpie boys have shattered me. Awwwwwww. Whole Australian Rules football year right down the drain as far as i'm concerned

The only thing that can lift my spirits now is a three set barnburner by the teen queens, Emma and Leylah, hopefully to be won by Leylah. That'll give womens tennis and the sport in general , a shot on the arm.

Good point..this should officially closed the door on Serena's great career. The reason I say that is because to win a grand slam championship you have to be healthy and fit enough for the total duration of the two weeks aka the fortnight..Well for me, I have officially moved on from any thoughts of Serena winning another GS and will embrace the possibility a great future with these two ladies.

Unfortunately, I think you’re right. I don’t see her maintaining the necessary level of play for two weeks anymore.

As for today, I’m going with Raducanu in straight sets. She hasn’t lost one yet, and has played the whole tournament with a crazy level of confidence and calm. Nothing I’ve seen has rattled her.

Trust me i don't like to give up on Queen Serena..

Interesting you pick Emma in straight sets over Miss Lil Bit..Do you think that it's a bad matchup for Leylah or that she is out of gas?

Mainly, I think she’ll handle the occasion better. Leylah has blinked a few times, and lost sets, whereas for Emma it has been a straight-set bulldozing through the draw.

Although I will add that Leylah has faced several top players, and dispatched them, whereas Emma has only faced one seeded player.

I’ll be happy for whomever wins, and sad for the loser. Ultimately, I like them both, and love that we’re going to have such an unusual final.

Wouldn't it be fair to say that Leylah has blinked a few times because she has faced probably 4 of the best tennis players on the planet? Two
3 time grandslam champions and two top 5 ranked WTA players. However, you are correct it doesn't mean that she will win..with a pedigree like that, it would be a shame that Leylah doesn't win the title..in my opinion

Yes, that would absolutely be fair. The more I think about it, the more I’m shifting to Leylah to win!

Who are you going with @kskate2 ? You always have your finger on the pulse of these things.

Sorry for you team,my football team just won in a thriller...I follow rugby league, though I am a Swans fan, dont kill me okay:)
I will be happy for either Leylah or Emma to win....tennis will also be the winner....great stuff.
I will have to watch a replay of the Ladies final as I have been called into work,we are short in ICU and the COVID patients in my hospital are rising sad to say.Lucky you live in SA,where this Delta strain at the moment is under control.

I believe Emma will lose her first set of the tournament today. I also believe she will win one set today. All that being said, I went w/ Lil Bit in 3.
