Because it was a final. He has more integrity than to withdraw from the final when lots of fans have paid money to see the last match of the tournament.

Ok but now I don't think he is going to play well in Shanghai. Monfils, Wawrinka and Kyrgios are already out, it would be a shame if Delpo would have to withdraw because he still is sick, hope not
