The Tournament:

The Miami Open (also known as the Miami Masters, and currently branded as the Miami Open presented by Itaú for sponsorship reasons) is a tennis tournament held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. It is part of the men's ATP Tour Masters 1000 circuit, and part of the women's WTA 1000 circuit. The Miami Open is usually held between March and April.

The tournament had historically been held at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne, Florida from 1987 through 2018, before moving to Miami Gardens for 2019. Behind the Indian Wells Masters, it is the second event of the "Sunshine Double"—a series of two consecutive hard court tournaments in the United States at the beginning of the season. They are the only tournaments besides majors where main draw play extends beyond eight days.

About Miami:

Miami, officially the City of Miami, is a coastal metropolis and the seat of Miami-Dade County in South Florida. With a population of 442,241 as of the 2020 census, it is the second-most populous city in the state of Florida after Jacksonville. The Miami metropolitan area is the ninth-largest in the United States with a population of 6.138 million in 2020. The city has the third largest skyline in the U.S. with over 300 high-rises, 58 of which exceed 491 ft (150 m).

Miami is a major center and leader in finance, commerce, culture, arts, and international trade. Miami's metropolitan area is by far the largest urban economy in Florida, with a gross domestic product of $344.9 billion as of 2017. According to a 2018 UBS study of 77 world cities, Miami is the second richest city in the U.S. and the third richest globally in purchasing power. Miami is a majority-minority city with a Hispanic population of 310,472, or 70.2 percent of the city's population, as of 2020.

I re check I got that info from the WTA website
On the WTA website it states ' draw ceremony Sunday 30 March at 2pm, which is incorrect, maybe a typo error
Main Draw play begins Tuesday March 21.
Maybe the draw ceremony take place on Sunday 19th March at 2pm. I have noticed on the ATP website, they are saying TBA for the ATP mens draw at Miami at present
I will keep my eyes open for an update and repost. Thanks for alerting me.

They both need to get their ranking up so they don't have these difficult early rounds.
Yeah, they need to make it to the Top 8 of the world rankings like Coco Gauff. This is a very favorable draw for Coco, who will avoid Iga/Rybakina until the semis, and will only need to beat one to make the final. This is another great opportunity for Coco to gain ranking points.

One to watch in Miami,
Karolina Muchova, a QF in IW, qualifies in Miami with a loss of just 6 games in 2 matches

Czech 15 yr old WC Brenda Fruhvirtova was given a bagel in the first set against X. Wang, took a toilet break, came out and has been more competitive in the 2nd set, Wang is serving for the match 5-4. oh wait Wang is broken back on serve, Brenda was serving to force a TB in the 2nd set, was broken Wang wins 60 75, keep working hard Brenda!

On court now Alycia Parks vs Elise Mertens, hopefully Parks will have a better result today, in IW she was defeated 61 61 by Anna Kalinskya, Parks is far better player than that score, she was a champion in Lyon.
Parks competed better in the 2nd set, keep working Alycia! Mertens 61 64, Parks needs to adjust her game and serve when playing outdoors.

Sinakova had to retire in her match against C. Liu with a wrist injury, a worrying sign, she and Krejickova are the top seeds in the doubles, C.Liu wins by retirement 63 3all
Coco and Jess are the 2nd seeds in the doubles competition

Epic fail on my part for the draw challenge, meaning I forgot to finish it. But look at how interesting Sabalenka v. Garcia could be. I should like the idea of Jabeur v Sakkari, but why does that feel like a potential hot mess?

Ons is still coming back from her knee surgery in IW, said she is still not 100%? so I would go with Sakkari, Garcia has gone off, though hopefully Saba will find her serve, she wont be able to serve up that mess with her DFs in the final in IW, actually if she can get back her mojo she can win Miami.
