This is the best result Jess has made on the grass reaching the QFs, her opponent is known more on the clay courts, making the finals of RG in 2019, and has a losing record on grass, in saying that Marketa is also the only player to defeat 3 seeds on her way to the QFs, she is a crafty lefty player.
I could see Marketa causing a upset here, Jess will have to be patient

Marketa serving for the 1st set 5-4
Well done Marketa wins the 1st set 64, getting Jess in all sort of tangles

Play suspended while they close the roof due to rain covers now on outside courts
Jess has a break and is leading 3-1 in the 3rd set

This match has a lot of hitting and Jess is now getting better and winning the long rallies.I hope she wins ,she is one non- problematic player.I hope she gets it done.

Jess was coming to net and was winning handily. She completely abandons that strategy and thinks she can duke it from the baseline. Dumb move. Now Marketa is serving for the match

Pegula had momentum before they closed the roof.I just wonder if there is air con when they close the roof.I can imagine the quality of the air inside that thing..can smell the farts from here.

I picked Marketa to win the match, she is a tricky lefty player and she had defeated 3 seeds before the QFs well done Marketa

Pegula and Garcia are the most notorious chokers in the women's game. It shouldn't be a surprise anymore when those players get upset by a lower ranked/unseeded player. I always knew this was quarter was going to produce an unexpected semifinalist.

JP really blew her best opportunity to make a GS final without facing the real Big Babe tennis hitters..
