The ATP used to run a draw challenge, but they've bailed on it, so we started our own in the ATP Forum. Since it's internal, I figured why not run one for the WTA as well?

Name your picks for:

1.) Semi-finalists: Pick 4 (5 points each correct answer)
2.) Finalists: Pick 2 (10 points each correct answer)
3.) Winner: Pick 1 (20 points)

4.) Wild card: Pick a WC to make the QFs or higher. (10 points each round the pass from QFs on)
5.) Dark Horse: Pick the unlikely winner. (50 points)

Obviously, you have to pick before the quarterfinals! Do play, and good luck!

OK, I'll start:

Winner: Halep
Finalists: Williams, Li
SF: Ivanovic, Jankovic
WC: Pennetta
DH: Ivanovic

I'm not even sure if I understand the rules, but run with it, folks!

Thanks for playing, fashionista! I think, if I understand my own rules, you get to pick one more finalist and two more semi-finalsists. Just for the sake of points.

Dark horse is typically defined as someone with an outside chance of winning.

I think wildcard is being used to mean spoiler -- someone who won't win, but will cause upsets along the way.

Thanks for point that out, ozza. Next time we'll use their Draw Challenge. I go with tented definitions of DH and WC.

For my draw challenge I had semi-finals of Serena vs Sharapova and Cibulkova vs Jankovic. With Jankovic already out I would change that to Serena vs Sharapova and Cibulkova vs Li.
F: Serena vs Li
W: Serena
WC: Ivanovic
DH: Cibulkova

Aloha everyone, based on WAG and SWAG, here's my best guesses...

SF: SERENA v. MARIA
VEE v. Li
Final: SERENA v. VEE
WINNER: SERENA
WC: LEPCHENKO
DH: IVANOVIC

I just can't seem to control the WAGS when it comes to predictions...But there just may be more SWAG to my guesses than it appears.

Vee did not, and has not, shown the same level of play as IW, but then she managed to WIN today without a first serve (49-51%?) or second serve, (28-30% pts won), as her stats were atrocious, IMHO. I like to think it was her ferocious fighting spirit, and relative good health that allowed her to win the 1st & 3rd sets, despite allowing Casey to come back from, being down 1-5. Vee still had the energy to win it in the 3r, and that is great news!!!

But VEE over Serena, nahhhhhhh, not even in my rose colored world!!!!!! :nono

OK, looks like it's between ozza and Hawkeye but I don't see semi picks from ozza...

Who keeps the score?

The results are in! Believe me, I've discovered how flawed this challenge was, but I gave points for every correct pick, even where you picked same player for SF and winner, for example, since my rules were so unclear.

1. Fashionista - 60 points
2. Hawkeye - 55 points
3. Bounce It! - 45 points
4. Ozza - 30 points
5. Kiu - 20 points
6. Moxie - 10 points

Congratulations to Fashionista! And thanks to all who played. We'll do the WTA one next time.
