This concept that you need rest before a slam is suitable to players who played a lot, not to those who didn't.

...... Only caveat is that Stan is more dangerous going into a Slam as a miserable failure in warm-ups. If he wins or even does well in Geneva he is screwing up his chances at RG.

Last year he played here, defeated first Rosol, then he lost to Delbonis in the QF. That worked quite well for him, as we know what happened next at RG.

There is a race for the top 10 position between them and also Gasquet.
