Confronting the violence in the Old Testament honestly.....

Most people are unaware but a book was released in 2011 by religion scholar Philip Jenkins about how the violence in the Old Testament is at least as bad as whatever is in the Qu'ran. Jenkins is a Christian and he has written a pair of books in defense of the Catholic Church with regard to clergy abuse, arguing that the epidemic was wildly exaggerated by anti-Catholics. However, he thinks (like Riotbeard) that Christians need to stop ignoring the violent texts in the Old Testament and confront them directly.
