Here are the candidates for this year:

Somdev Devvarman (656-90)
Rafael Nadal (4-1)
Tommy Robredo (115-19)
Dmitry Tursunov (125-39)


They all have their stories, but I think what Rafa did was just out of this world. I would give big kudos to Devvarman as well since he had a serious surgery on the shoulder. Robredo, considering his age has done great too , I think. Tursunov's wrist surgery cannot be overlooked as well.

After 2 dozen threads about Rafa's return and incredible season, I'd like to vote for Tommy Robredo and give him one thread to laud his return and subsequent success. The guy had me crying.

from the list i would choose Rafa, but my choice would actually be Tommy Haas

I'd say Rafa but he's getting enough praise and kudos. I agree with Nehmeth, Tommy Robredo has been sterling in the service this season, leaping almost a hundred places, crucially even reaching the top 20. He had all those five set thrillers in Paris, he finally beat Roger in a slam and he's displayed the hallmarks of old vets who are given a final (?) shot at redemption: he's playing through his old limits and loving it...

Agreed. I think going from a 1 slam year to a 2 slam year is hardly a huge comeback. Robredo for me is the comeback of the year.
