Quarterfinals are set:

Kontaveit v. Halep
V. Williams v. Muguruza
Bertens v. Gavrilova
Svitolina v. Plishkova (the good one)

If Venus and Garbiñe are both up for it, theirs is my call for the popcorn match of the day.

Venus could win that if she continues to serve well. Getting past Konta was a big hurdle as Jo had become quite a nemesis to her.

Pliskova seems to be adjusting her big game nicely to the red clay.

Muguruza v Venus is today's popcorn match. I am hoping my Garbiñe can keep her mojo going.

I watched most of the match. Simona had her chances. She did roll her ankle a bit at the end of the first and wasn't as aggressive. Svito is like a wall. If you're not aggressive, she will just button the hatches and rollover you. Great win for Elina. In the long run this might help Simona. She's a bit of head case and this loss could take pressure off going into RG as the fave.

I did, too. Couldn't watch, of course, but the 3rd set looked to be all Svitolina. Halep blew a big chance.

How are you watching, K?
