Fed has tough draw.

Zverev, Thiem, Kei, Novak and Murray in succession.

In the Q1 round, Stepanek plays Fritz again, just like in Madrid. What are the odds?:cry

Wow, how is that even possible? One of the most brutal draws I've ever seen for a Masters.

Some 1R matches that hold interest:

Dimitrov-Zverev
Thiem-Dolgopolov
Anderson-Lopez
Tomic-Paire

Roger's draw is not better or worst than Rafa's, who got this one:
Kohlscreiber,
Raonic/Kyrgios
Novak
Roger/Kei
Andy

The quarters against Nole's a killer; just like last season's FO! I love it! :clap :p

Whoever goes further at Rome, Fed or Andy, gets the #2 seed at RG.

I think you forgot that Roger defends 600 points. Andy very few.

Pretty sure the Rome points have already dropped off but could be wrong. Anyway, it's a tough ask for Roger with that draw and 3 matches played since January.

No. The Rome points have not been removed. Only tomorrow.
GSM should know better. He is just keen to see Roger up there.

As are many of us. Not many want to see that mopey, grumpy, toothy, angry, cursing, muppet at number 2 seeing as he can't even beat Novak. At least Roger can beat him even at 34 and is still his only true challenger when healthy. Either way, these 2 will change the number 2 and 3 ranking a lot the next few months as Roger has a ton of points to defend at Wimbledon and the USO as well.

I plead Mea Culpa. Rome points are not removed. The chances of Roger getting #2 seed at RG is next to nil. See details in my post on rankings thread.

Roger will officially be ranked as the #2 player in ATP charts during the week of Rome tourney.
Unfortunately, this will neither get him the #2 seed at Rome nor get him the #2 seed at RG.

If this has happened a week later, he would get #2 seed at RG. If this has happened a week
before, he would at least get #2 seed at Rome. Talk about bad timing to rise up the charts.

No rest for the weary. Already six first round (not talking about qualifying) matches are over in Rome.
Goffin and Anderson won. Deliciano lost. Tomic lost (he played for just 10 minutes, karma strikes back for misbehaving at match point earlier).

Glad to see Anderson back and winning after his surgery. He's been out a good few months.

I knew he was off, but did not know why. What kind of surgery did he have?

He had ankle surgery but also had shoulder problems which were affecting his serve, but the ankle was where the surgery was performed.
