^ Pretty surprising but this is not a mandatory tournament and he apparently hasn't listed a reason for withdrawing. So hopefully it's not an injury and rather just some additional rest. Nicko is young but he still has played a decent amount of tennis this year already.

Barcelona announces that it will rename their center court for Rafael Nadal. He is its winningest champion, the greatest Spanish tennis player, and a member of the Barcelona club. Perhaps a little weird that they're going to do it while he's still playing. The pressure will be on to take his 10th title there. I hadn't thought of this, but I suppose Basel with name their center court for Roger, too.

In fact we should be thankful that in general, in the tennis world, they don´t wait for the guy to die to name things after him.
