Congrats to Thiem on growing up fast. I did not get to see the match. It is no brainer that Rafa and Thiem are the two best performers in the clay season warm-up tourneys independent of what happens in the remainder of this tourney.

You two females casted bad juju over Rafa match today..He read your posts and lost the incentive to stay with Dominic today..now we all have to endure the likes of herios, Front, Benedict Dude and Darth gloat about Rafa's demise.. its gonna be a dreadful weekend..,LOL

Really.. he needed to be off the courts and getting prepared for RG.. nothin to be gain by winning today's match..

Vamos and Onwards to RG

No gloating here. The big one is RG and I don't think Rafa is letting this opportunity slip away especially with Djoker's game still in the crapper.

Good point Darth..,however Rafa has won a couple of Clay Salms(master series 1000 plus RG)

Actually I think it was only 2010 where he won all 3 MS titles and RG. Regardless he has played tons of tennis this year so a bit of a break before RG is a good thing at his age.

Good win for Zverev today and a nice chance to get to the finals. He is rising the ranks and could be a decent threat on grass.

But, in that year when he won all three Masters, he did not play Barcelona due to scheduling issues.

Nope. Rafa needed to win against Thiem to make it to #3. But, it does not matter whether is #3 or #4 as far as seeding advantage at RG is concerned.

Yeah, this loss doesn't matter for Rafa at all, but is huge for Thiem and the youth movement in general. Remember, folks, no one born in 1989 or later has won a big tournament. Two of the semi finalists are younger than that...far from a guarantee, but they're creeping up.

Nope, he never did (although he won the 2009 USO),

He was the one that was supposed to break up the "Big 4," or at least make it '5!' Same was said of Stan, but you just never know how he'll play while Del Po's about as fragile as a graham cracker! He's a good player and has the game to beat anyone, but his BH is a real liability babying that wrist! :nono:  :banghead:

Fabio and Flavia had their baby today...Federico. That was my 2nd choice, though I was hoping for "Fabrizio."

Of course, like Djoker did last year when Rafa was in the crapper :D
