Daniela Hantuchova won her sixth career title defeating 16-year-old prodigy Donna Vekic 7-6(5), 6-4 at the Birmingham WTA final.
The Croatian youngster nearly snatched the first set before succumbing 7-5 in the tiebreak, prompting a code violation for racquet abuse as she vented her frustration.
Hantuchova, a former world number 5, broke Vekic twice in the second set after suffering an early break of her own to run out the winner and take the title.
