Fedal, if it happens, can only be in final.

I don't expect it happening again. One or both will lose before finals.

Also, both Nick and Sasha are hiding in Stan's quarter. Given that Stan is generally not known to be consistent, he may exit early this time.

OK, I love Roger but I'm hoping for a Thiem-Dimitrov final.

Kei has the easiest draw among top players.

Delpo in R3 (Roger's second match) is a tough one.

If Fed gets through that, then I feel fairly positive about his chances to go deep.

What are Raonic's chances? He's got the toughest projected QF, against Rafa.

I disagree, I think Rafa has it harder every round except the R32 and maybe the semi though Stan is much more likely to be upset than Kei because his section is pretty brutal. Fed's draw is very nice aside from DP in R32.

Reasonable people can differ on whether Fed's or Rafa's draw is trickier.

However, Fed's draw is no cake walk; so much for getting the #4 seeding.

You agree that JMDP is tough customer. Uncle Sam recently won 500 on the other side of the yet to be built wall. Further Uncle Sam and related players usually tend to well in home soil. Thiem is having lot of power and his shots are heavy and will be particularly suited in the slow courts of Miami.
I don't expect Stan to reach SF. But, whoever reaches will be tough as well (Zverev beat Fed this year in Hopman cup and Nick has never lost to Fed).

I think Uncle Sam cannot trouble Fed, assuming Fed gets past JMDP. But Thiem and others can.

Finally, a Donkey can always beat Fed, if he takes his eye off the prize. Ras

Where is Donskoy now? He looked to be immensely talented in that match, I would like to assert. Where is he now? Why does he play on the challenger tour? He should come to the main tour ASAP.

I guess he came back to challenger tour, maybe it's better for him than to play qualies ??

^Donskoy played an won a challenger in Asia right after his win over Federer. He played a second one and fell on the the quarters to Blaz Kavcic, he ended up as champion, if I am not mistaken. He climbed from around #160 pre-Dubai to around #100 now.

I haven´t seen his name in the qualies for Miami, maybe he was too low ranked when they made the list. Could have fought for a WC, I guess.

That guy is in the 80s on the ranks. Couldn't see why that would have been very low to enter the qualies.

Entry is based on your rankings six weeks before the tournaments.

Tignor makes his picks for Miami . Jinxes Thiem in the process.
Glad he did not jump on the bandwagon and jinx Fed.

Read the comments, his tennis board members consistently ridicule Tignor..How in the Hell is he still employed..they could go train a chimp to reach his hands into a bucket or bowl with the player's name on chips and the outcome would make more logical sense.. Front I would like you to track your buddy's picks and see how he fares.

I agree it is far from clear cut who has the tougher draw when you factor in DP being an enormous difference from Kohlschreiber. Sam and Thiem would be tough but I think Grigor and Raonic is a significantly tougher gauntlet if the latter is healthy. Also of note is that if Nishikori gets upset before the semis then the winner of the other quarter, Rafa/Raonic/Dimitrov is going to have an easy semifinal whereas the winner of Fed's quarter is very unlikely to have an easy semi.

He definitely doesn't make picks in hopes of Fed winning. Tignor is a self-admitted Rafa nut. I don't think his picks this tournament are that out there aside from Goffin winning his section. I like McFly but he isn't coming out of that quarter. I also don't see Thiem beating Roger or DP.
