This one may be even more competitive than Dubai. Both of these two really ratchet it up a notch from the previous ATP 500s, Rio and Rotterdam.

I hope Rafa falls in Raonic's draw so we can (possibly) see a Rafa-Novak final! I would also like to see another Thiem-Rafa match.

Raonic has withdrawn, making Rafa the #2 seed.

Sasha has also withdrawn, making both Sock and Isner top 8 seeds.

Rafa plays Mischa in round 1. Get ready folks. Mischa is a S&V player. S&V is almost like death knell for Rafa. Remember dreddie's adventure in Wimby. Devil

Poor Novak is likely to play JMDP in round 2. After Rafa gets upset in the first round by Mischa, Novak may get upset in the second round by JMDP. This tourney may have a surprise winner.

I saw that and noted it above! Talk about a dangerous floater! Nole better come out firing! Angel Dodgy Rolleyes

That was before Mischa got his confidence by going deep in AO.

When he played Rafa in Brisbane, he was outside of top 50. Now, he is inside top 30, reached QF of a slam and beat a #1 player. That would surely give a man some confidence and couple that with Rafa's vulnerability to S&V players, there is an upset potential here.

Maybe I missed it, but people seem to have forgotten Milos defeated Roger in the final last year in Brisbane! Clap

It doesn't matter if he is now top 30 and he beat the #1 who played so badly in the AO. Just two weeks before Rafa swept him very badly showing that he doesn't have ANY vulnerability to S&V players as most that you'd like he does. I think Roger had more difficult time with Mischa in the AO when he almost lost the second set so.....hello!!!!!!! Rolleyes

Djokovic vs Del Potro is the match to watch. Del Potro keeps losing his rhythm and has come back only shortly. So, he needs to play a reasonable schedule for some months to get back to a good form. I wish him all the best.

I don't think Misha changed because Sir Andy played atrocious in AO.....see Vesely, he beat Nole in MC last year and he's never did great things since this moment
same for Rosol, Darcis, Brown who all beat Manacor's bull in Wimbly, it didn't change their career after that

There are some players which are "great only for one match" and that's all. Seppi stuns Roger in AO 2015 and I don't remember to see him doing something good again
