RE: Wimbledon Day 5: Friday, June 28 - Order of Play
Nicolas Almagro (ESP) (15) v Jerzy Janowicz (POL) (24)
Andy Murray (GBR) (2) v Tommy Robredo (ESP) (32)
Mikhail Youzhny (RUS) (20) v Viktor Troicki (SRB)

These are the three that interest me most. Robredo is having a good year on the comeback trail, but Murray should really take this comfortably. Straight sets is my prediction.

Youzhny should prevail over Troicki, but could be a good match to watch.

Almagro/Janowicz is the one with the biggest chance of an upset. Difficult proposition for Almagro, particularly if Jerzy serves as well as he can.

I like Robredo, and he has had a great year (those RG 5-setters were incredible), but I also think Murray will win fairly easily, especially on grass.

Well, there's the Dimitrov match to finish, which could be over in 10 minutes, or go on for ?? And Gulbis v. Verdasco. Laugh, if you will, but I'm thinking Verdasco will put up a fight.

I like Zerseys game and I think he can go very deep.

It's going to be interesting to see if Dimitrov can hold serve. If he can, that final set might last a while...

i love Tommy and his run, but i don't see him getting anywhere v Andy. Youzhny v Troicki could be fun, or creepy (haircuts will make it look like a russian military camp).

JJ should definitely take it v Almagro. i hope he finally gets the hang of it on grass. i guess his height might not like the low bounce, but his shots definitely would.

how about Verdasco v Gulbis? mercurial, for sure. Verdasco seems to be putting together something like a comeback run, and Gulbis is here mostly courtesy of Tsonga's troubles.

also, Schmendrick Stakhovsky on court 3 - that's mean! put the guy on CC, he's gotten used to it now Smile

One of the following players is going to be a semifinalist at Wimbledon:

Kubot, Paire, Mannerino, Brown, Almagro, Janowicz, Melzer, Starkhovsky.

Crazy.

As long as it is not Melzer or Mannerino (don't know Kubot), Im okay with it. Starkhovsky is my favorite (yes completely jumping on his bandwagon, I don't care).

Huge risk taken by the BBC having Sue Barker interview Boris Becker and Anne Keothovang. Anne looks like all the mothers of all his children going back 3 decades....

Well at least the children we know of. Wink

I bet the toilet lady/mother didn't look like Keothovang too btw. I think we can better say that there are risks in general in interviewing Boris Becker.

Stupid rain, let's get the show going on centre at least. Why wait?

Dimitrov serves at 30 - 30, slips, loses the point, then refuses to play on. play is suspended on match point.

When they return Dimitrov will have to serve facing match point down. LOL!

After facing a couple of MP, Dimitrov gets the score to 9 -9.

Zem fights off BP's to go up 10-9. Dimi steps to the line to stay in the match again.

MP for Zem

Another MP for Zemlja.

Dimitrov is out, despite having won more points during the entire match. Bummer.

Oh, what a sweet passing shot on MP. Zem takes the match 11-9. Bye Bye Grigor, nice match.

Dimitrov has all the shots and has copied Federer nearly on every front, save for the head.

Did you see JJ hit the ball at Almagro at the net? Almagro could have made a put away if he wasn't shrieking and dodging like a scaredy-cat. What's up with the players these days?

McEnroe would have had it. Connors' Mommy used to make him come to the net and hit the ball right at him when he was a kid. These days, the players rarely hit at the guy at the net - like it's bad or something. Then when someone does they are terrified and then mad that someone dared to do that!!

To be fair Alamagro is not a great net player. It would be hypocritical though of him to get mad. I remember him beaming berdych last year at the AO and thinking that Berdych was being a baby.
